Clint Nievar takes the role of Jake Blues head on with all the fierceness and intensity of the original man himself. He is a 17 year veteran of the business with formal training in singing, acting, and dancing. Hailing from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he took ballet, tap, and jazz lessons since the age of 14 and moving to the Branson area straight out of high-school in 2001. He has graced the stage of many legendary shows in town including The WELK Show and Stuck on the 70’s show. Later in his career Clint was hired at Silver Dollar City where he worked for 12 years in productions such as A Dickens Christmas Carol, Echo Hollow, The Silver Dollar Saloon, and finished his run with the company with Its a Wonderful Life.

Clint has also worked alongside Debbie Boone, Jerry Van Dike, Ed McMann and even had the chance to be side kick comedian to the one and only Yakov Smirnoff for whom he wrote comedy for over two years. There is no other role that Clint would rather do than the role of Joliet Jake Blues at Legends in Concert.

Originally from Auburn Indiana, Justin Sassanella is no stranger to the Branson stage. He has performed in numerous fan favorite shows over the years such as: The 12 Irish Tenors, Shake Rattle and Roll, Magnificent 7 Variety Show, Broadway the Star Spangled Celebration, A Dickens Christmas Carol, Christmas Wonderland and others. Other credits include being a featured vocalist for Carnival Cruise Lines and Oceana Cruise Lines throughout the world. Justin is also Co-Producer and Co-Owner of the award winning show “Forever Young,” which is currently touring the country and being performed on cruise ships around the globe.

Justin is ecstatic for the opportunity to step into the role of Elwood Blues for Legends in Concert alongside his longtime friend Clint Nievar as Jake Blues.

Dean Z, The Ultimate Elvis at The Clay Cooper Theatre.

When Dean was 3, the documentary "This Is Elvis" was being broadcast on television. He immediately cleared the coffee table, jumped on top of it and started trying to imitate Presley’s every move. Not long after, Dean's mother made his first Elvis jump suit, and he was on his way.

After performing in several shows of his own, Dean took off for the bright light city that would set his soul on fire, Las Vegas, at age 17. He relocated to the entertainment mecca to attain the goal of establishing himself as a well-known act. Throughout the next 12 years, Dean performed in Vegas, and has paid tribute to "The Memphis Flash" in Japan, Australia, Norway, Denmark, England, across Canada and the United States. Dean soon earned a spot with the World's Greatest Live Tribute Show, "Legends in Concert," then in 2007, moved to headlining the show in Branson, Missouri.

In 2013, Dean decided it was time to go after the title of Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist. He and the 28 other semi-finalists competed for the top ten spots on August 14th with the Finals coming three days later. He brought the house down, and was soon presented with a championship belt, the title of Ultimate Elvis 2013 from EPE, a check for $20,000 and tens of thousands of new fans.

The year 2014 was a banner year for Dean, who received the Heart Of The King Award in Las Vegas at the former Las Vegas Hilton, on the same stage the Elvis himself performed over 700 shows during the 1970’s. Dean also had the pleasure of being a part of the national touring production Elvis Lives, a live musical highlighting Elvis’ career that features world champions from the Ultimate Elvis® Tribute Artist ContestTM .

As Dean's success as an entertainer and personality grew, so did his creativity. Dean combined his life, love, passion and influences to create a unique concert and show experience, with Broadway-worthy dance moves and spontaneous audience interaction called "The Dean Z Show." This week we welcome, from Clay Cooper’s Country Express, Matt Gumm!

Matt Gumm literally grew up around variety shows at Lake of the Ozarks, so at the age of 30, he takes to the stage like a seasoned pro. Of course, growing up with Thom "Gabby" Gumm as your dad & mentor didn't hurt. In fact, he learned so well, Matt was added to the Main Street Opry act at the age of seven.

Long before that, though, he seemed to know what he was going to do with his life. His mom Sandy will tell you that he spent everyday up on his bed, with a make-shift curtain that hung from the ceiling, with wigs and props doing his "show". It was in these very early years that a family friend thought it would be "funny" to buy Matt a toy set of drums. Well, the joke was on him, because Matt started playing those things and he was a natural! All that practice may have been painful at times for the family, but it definitely paid off.

While in High School, Matt was the only student chosen out of his class to attend the Missouri Fine Arts Academy because he excelled in Music, Art & Drama. Fresh out of high school, Matt spent 5 years developing his own reputation as a gifted comedian and musician on the stage of the long-running Lee Mace's Ozark Opry in Osage Beach, Missouri. Once again, his family ties drew him back to work along side his dad and mom at the Main Street Opry in Osage Beach. There he honed not only his comedy skills with his dad, but he came into his own with his impersonations. He's brought the house down with his take on such artists as Garth Brooks, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, Rod Stewart & Sammy Davis, Jr., just to mention a few.

Clay Cooper caught his act and knew he wanted to be the first to introduce Matt to Branson. Currently, he is the craziest addition to Clay Cooper's Country Express where you can experience Matt's family friendly, high-energy fun, visual humor, and surprising abilities on some unusual instruments. When he's not performing, he enjoys spending time with his wife Katie, daughter Norah Sue, and son Nash.

This week we welcome one of Branson’s favorite entertainers, Rick McEwen!

There earliest Rick McEwen can remember singing was at Beulah Church of Christ in Cullman, Alabama. He started playing music when he was 13. Self taught with help from my Cousin's the Hart Brothers.. three chords and a prayer from his Mother. Rick was praying to get a gig soon and “mom” was praying he’d get out of her sewing room.

He moved to Nashville in Nashville,Tn. where he toured with The Blackwood Singers, Vasser Clements, and spent two years with Earl Scruggs. He began singing demo's for a few producers in Nashville, one in particular Alan Reynold's ( Garth Brooks, Crystal Gayle, Don Williams, Kathey Matea ). This led to him working with The Dillards (the Darlin' Family on Andy Griffith TV Show) and touring The U.S., Canada, Mexico, England. Moved to Branson in 1984.

His first Branson job was in the 4,000-seat amphitheater, Echo Hollow, at Silver Dollar City. The show operated five seasons. During that time Rick helped produce over 120 live radio shows, national cable TV special, and performed before 1.7 Million over the next five years. Following that he was with the 7th founding show in Branson, the Ozark Jubilee and the featured male vocalist and bass guitar player.

Rick spent one year as lead singer for the Ozark Mountain Boys where he opened for many of his heroes: Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Jerry Reed, Loretta Lynn, Dottie West, Connie Smith, Johnny Russell, John Connelly, Asleep at The Wheel, Mason Dixon, Mike Snider, and many others..... He then joined the Jim Stafford show for over 14 years. In 1991, Eureka Springs beaconed him to make the short trip down the highway to perform with the Ozark Mountain Opry.

In his spare time he played on recordings and help produce projects for an IMAX Theatre and Movie Short. This led to working with Andrew Belling ( Disney Productions) on a Disney Theme Park Music Project for The Enchanted TiKi Hut Ride. In 1993, his relationship with Andrew and Rodney Dillard landed his a bass playing spot in the Mayberry Revisited Network special, hosted By Andy Griffith and Don Knotts. He was asked to play with The Dillard's on The Mayberry Cast reunion show at The Opryland Hotel.... These many years later he is also a veteran of the Country Tonite show and Penny Gilley TV show on RFD. The past seven season he’s been a part of the Marty Robbins Tribute in Branson. In 2020, Rick started a Tribute to Kenny Rogers and My Great American Songbook Show as well as running shotgun on the “Nashville Roadhouse Live Show”.

Terry Wayne Sanders is the busiest comedian in town with 6 different jobs in the entertainment field! He’s still going strong in his 41st year as a comic headliner now known as ‘The Face of Branson’! Entertaining literally millions of people just like you at Silver Dollar City with a wide range of characters have afforded Terry “Homer Lee” Sanders, the opportunity to work with Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Bob Hope.

Terry has received the award/title ‘COMEDIAN OF THE YEAR’ 8- times! As well as the prestigious Terry ‘Pioneer’ Award! A veteran in films with Annie Potts, Tim Curry and Leslie Nielsen, Terry prefers the one-on-one with audiences in live performances. In addition to his regular performances at Silver Dollar City and in The Shepherd of the Hills. Terry was the comedian at the Braschler Music Show for 17 years. His comedy antics earned him a regular spot on television’s Hee Haw where he worked exclusively with Roy Clark, Grandpa Jones and Minnie Pearl.

He’s had the pleasure of working for many shows in Branson, MO. like Branson USA, The Grand Jubilee, The Branson Brothers Show, & Shoji Tabuchi as well. This is Terry’s 5th season to be the comedian for ‘CJ Newson’s Classic Country’s & Comedy Show’! This is Terry’s 19th season performing in The Shepherd of the Hills play.

He is also the host/producer/writer of ALL the main shows at Big Cedar Lodge! He’s in his 13th season to perform at the Baker Creek Seed Company in Mansfield, MO., & 13 years as ‘Barney Fife’ for the Muscular Dystrophy Association & their ‘lock-ups’. P lus, many personal appearances! Terry’s an avid “people watcher” and uses his keen observations of day-to-day life to keep his material fresh and his audiences in stitches. Country music legend Moe Bandy has come a long way from his bull riding days in Texas. Not to mention his years as a sheet metal worker by day and playing Honkey Tonks at night in and around his hometown of San Antonio, Texas.  In the mid-seventies when the country pop Kenny Rogers, John Denver and the outlaw sound of Waylon and Willie was the rage, along came the traditionalist Moe Bandy.

The Texas singer with twin fiddles and steel guitar in the band kept Texas-style Honkey Tonk music alive, but it wasn't easy. In 1972 Moe met record producer Ray Baker on a hunting trip and convinced him to listen to some demo tapes he had made. Baker agreed to produce Moe if he was willing to pay for recording session. Moe agreed and out of that session came Moe's first hit song "I just Started Hatin Cheatin' Songs Today".  GRC records picked up the song and released it nationally where it became a top 20 hit and that was just the beginning. Moe followed up with "It Was Always So Easy (To Find An Unhappy Woman)" and his first #1 hit "Bandy The Rodeo Clown". His songs never strayed far from the traditionally Honky Tonk fare. Loving, cheating, drinking and patriotic songs formed the core of his music.

This week we welcome, from Legends In Concert, Michael Knight as Michael Jackson. Michael Knight has quickly become the premier Michael Jackson tribute artist. His years of meticulous focus and the studying of every iconic nuance has propelled him to the top of the list of impersonators. Knight has continued his studies in 2013 and 2014 when he contracted multi-award winning Travis Payne, backup dancer and choreographer for Jackson and Principle Choreographer of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson IMMORTAL. Knight’s training also includes current vocal training with Jackson’s long time vocal trainer, Seth Riggs. Finally, he gained additional insights on costuming and make-up application from America’s Next Top Model’s Sutan Amrull.

 

The training and education that Knight has received has only finalized the skill that he possesses in paying tribute to his childhood hero. He sings every lyric, dances every iconic step, holds an amazing resemblance, and lives his personal life in a manner that mirrors Jackson’s philanthropic aspirations.
