  • Mollie Kubicka- A Simple Conversation

Sometimes the most meaningful conversations are the simplest ones.

In this episode of Brave Besties Club, we’re just sitting down and talking—no big agenda, no perfect answers, just a real conversation about life with Type 1 diabetes, connection, support, and everything in between.

Because sometimes you don’t need someone to fix it. You just need someone who gets it.

Come hang out with us for a simple conversation, a few laughs, and a reminder that you’re never alone in this journey.

    Meet our guest: Molly Kubicka

"Hi! I’m Mollie, and I’ve been part of braveONE for the past few months. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was two years old and recently celebrated my 21-year diaversary. I’m now in my final semester of nursing school, working toward my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and getting ready to start my career as an RN. I hope to someday become a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and combine my personal experience with T1D and my career in nursing.
I hope you enjoy hearing a little of my story on the Brave Besties Club Podcast, from diagnosis to growing up with T1D, and now being just a few months away from graduating college. If you’d like to follow along on my journey, you can find me on Instagram at @t1dmollie!"

  • KK and Brynn- Support Means Everything

In this episode of Brave Besties Club, we’re talking about why support can mean everything when you’re navigating life with Type 1 diabetes. Sometimes, it’s not about having the perfect advice or knowing exactly what to say—it’s simply knowing that someone is there, understands, and has walked a similar path.

We’re also so excited to share a very special story: KK and Brynn, our first complete braveONE match featured on the show!

Their connection is such a beautiful example of what braveONE is all about—bringing people together, creating meaningful relationships, and reminding families living with T1D that they don’t have to do this alone.

From the first connection to the little moments that make a difference, we’re diving into what mentorship, friendship, and genuine support can look like.

  • Avery Hillis- The Power of Becoming a Mentor

In this episode of Brave Besties Club, we’re talking about the impact braveONE has had on us as mentors. We’ll share how becoming mentors has changed the way we see Type 1 diabetes, relationships, support, and the importance of simply showing up for someone who understands.

We’ll talk about the lessons our mentees and their families have taught us, the moments that have stayed with us, and how being part of braveONE has influenced who we are—not just as mentors, but as people.

Because sometimes we think we’re joining a program to make a difference in someone else’s life…only to realize they’ve changed ours, too.

This is the story of how braveONE became more than mentoring—it became a community of Brave Besties.

    Meet our guest- Avery Hillis

    @thediabeticjournal on IG and TikTok

"My name is Avery Hillis! I'm a 22 year old first grade teacher and recently published author in Tampa, FL. I was diagnosed with Diabetes at 7 years old and have spent most of my T1D journey not knowing anyone who could relate to my experience. So much has changed since then and braveOne has become such an important piece of my puzzle!"

  • Pilot: Brave Besties Club Podcast

Welcome to the very first episode of Brave Besties Club! 💜

In our pilot episode, we’re sharing why this podcast was created and why it means so much to us.

Born from braveONE’s mentorship program, Brave Besties Club was created for the people behind the T1D diagnosis—the parents raising kids with Type 1 diabetes and the kids, teens, and adults actually living with it.

We’re talking about the parts of T1D that don’t always get discussed: the fear, the burnout, the independence, the parenting struggles, the hard days, the small victories, and the moments when you just need someone to say, “I get it. I’ve been there.”

This isn’t just a podcast about diabetes. It’s about the people, relationships, and stories behind it.

Because sometimes the best support isn't another piece of information—it’s knowing you’re not alone. 🫶

🎙️ Real stories. Real support. One brave community.
