Did you have a childhood dream of who you were going to be when you grew up? Jan’s dream was to be a mommy. She planned for it as a child, and couldn’t wait for the day she actually had a baby.
Jan and Brandon were close. He was her mama’s boy - in the good sense. They did everything together, but the most important thing they did was communicate. They consistently shared their day with each other, and loved spending time doing things they both enjoyed. Life was great!
Then it happened. Memorial Day, 2003 was the day a detective knocked at the door to say that Brandon was in an accident and passed away. This rocked Jan’s world. How could she live one day without her son? What would her new normal life look like?
Losing a family member can be tough. Jan talks about losing her son and how she discovered her new normal. She explains how she was brave enough to get out of bed each morning and face her day.
Jan is a strong and courageous woman, and through it all - many years later - she knows she is never alone. No one is. This is why Jan shares her story of loss. She is here to encourage you letting you know that you, also, can be strong and courageous!
Jan wrote a book about the loss in her life that will change your outlook on loss. Look for her book called Organized Mess on be-in-couraged.com website or amazon.com.
