“I can remember being about 10 years old maybe, and I was sitting next to my Grandmother, and her hands were on her lap. And she was fussing about her hands.  She was telling me that she had these spots on her hands and she was fussing about it.  I remember not knowing what to say to her, because I’m like looking at her and I’m thinking…. well… you’re old.  You’re my grandmother; of course you have spots on your hands…. she was just fussing about that.  I just didn’t get it, I still don’t get why she was fussing about it.  Now I have spots on my hands, and I think of that often. I think of how now, I have a 10 year old grandchild and about how silly it would be for me to be freaking out because my body is getting older.  Of course it is getting older because…. every year we get older.  You do, I do… we all do TOGETHER.  So why are we so freaked out about it?”
