so it's after the holidays, all the kids are back in school. and damn, I'm still exhausted.

execs who can’t turn it off during a break, or parents with young kids who go on vacation… you know what i’m saying :)

this may sound funny, but we “only” we have four kids at home now every week. there are four older ones in Los Angeles, and a 12 year old at boarding school here nearby in Edinburgh.  so while we don’t have nine kids at home now, the overwhelm is still real.

part of it is the emotional juggling. there’s always a long to-do list, like helping the big kids by lending an ear to their frustrations, or dealing with never ending schedule changes, emails, paperwork (taxes, insurances, housing,and schools), chores...the never ending laundry…lately i was getting up earlier to get 10 minutes of indoor biking before the morning school routine.  which worked until a kid got sick.  

there’s ALWAYS something that knocks me off my flow.

why restart? what else can i do but try, and try again. 

as i declare while wrestling with the little kids, never surrender!   

the battle may be theirs, but the laundry is far from over.
