This episode is a phone call that I made to Rio de Janeiro to talk to a person born and bred in this beautiful city, which mesmerizes foreign tourists.
My purpose is not only to ask her to speak about the Carioca food, slang, places to visit, Carnaval time... but also to give you the opportunity of listening to her accent, which is considered by all of us Brazilians the most pleasant accent found in Brazil.
It is also interesting to listen to it, attentively, to enable you to know when you are talking or overhearing a Carioca speaking to somebody.
I hope you enjoy it and let me know on my Instagram if you have had the chance of visiting Rio de Janeiro. If you haven`t, I strongly recommend visiting it.
Visit my facebook channel Aprendendo português com os Nativos. There is a place to know more about the Brazilian culture, documents to live there, Brazilian shops and to interact with other students like you. To participate you need to ask to join in, and I will let you in, more than happy. Come on, join us. The more people we have the better our community will be.

Feliz Ano Novo
I have prepared this podcast to start 2022 with different and unusual words which are spoken by our people on a daily basis.
You will hear dialogue on the phone between two neighbors Linda and Cida. Cida rang Linda in early and cold morning, just to ask
Linda if by chance she had a pack of canjica ( kind of corn, cooked in water, and after straining the water, you add hot milk...)
If you want this podcast PDF, just drop me a line on my Instagram DM, and I will very happily, send it to your email. Or if you visit
the link in BIO you can watch other lessons as well as get my ebook.
I would like you, listeners, to tell me what you would like to listen to, such as topics that you consider interesting about Brasil, so that
I wouldn't waste my time publishing silly topics. Could you do this for me, pls? I would be very grateful. You would help me improve my work.

This podcast is a dialogue between two neighbors, Cinda e Linda. Cida is from Northeast of Brazil, where the accent sounds that she is singing when is talking. Cida has another accent, completely different cus she is from Southeast of Brazil.
Not only to show the different accents but also to introduce some of our weird Brazilian expressions, which are not taught at school, or Portuguese courses. It is used only by the native, and if you want to sound like a Brazilian native speaker, I would strongly recommend learning them, in order to be able to understand their meaning, when somebody talks to you.
If you still want to learn thoroughly, contact me through my Instagram channel and I can give you the PDF so that you can follow and connect the listening to the speaking and reading skills.
hope you have enjoyed it and made the most of it. I have also asked what do you want to hear in my podcasts, are they good for you?
I wish each of you a Happy New Year, full of health and prosperity. Let's think that 2022 will be better than 2021. Don't give up, don't loose your faith!!

See you soon.
This podcast is about the different personalities of different people. In Portuguese, as well as in English, we have several ways to describe somebody`s personality.
Firstly, I will explain in English the adjectives that describe personalities. Once you know what I am speaking about, you`ll be able to understand the examples in a context, ( if you are an intermediate language learner) easier than if the adjectives were loose, and not in sentences.
In order to improve your listening, and vocabulary, listen to it twice and repeat it out loud for yourself. Record your voice, to compare it with my pronunciation. If you want the PDF, go to my Instagram page "teachermaryportuguese" and send me a DM, asking for the Pdf.
Hope to see you soon

The purpose of this podcast is to give you some tips on how to behave when visiting your future "SOGROS". Sogros means your girlfriend's father and mother.
In Brazil, we usually are very informal, but this doesn't mean that you don't need to prepare yourself when it comes to questions, answers, from the "sogros".
If you think about finding a Brazilian girlfriend, this podcast is for you. I give lots of information, which can help you behave well, and "não fazer feio, não cometer gafes, não queimar teu filme, não dar foras" All these expressions and slangs will be explained to you at the end of the podcast.
I also offer you a Pdf of this podcast or my podcasts in general. I have students that ask me for the Pdf so that they know what I am speaking about, in other words, help learners train not only the listening skill but also the reading skill. To get this, send me a DM on my Instagram channel, leaving me your email so that I can send you the Pdf or the Pdfs.

Curupira was a mythological creature in our Brazilian Folklore. He will prey on hunters that wanted to take more than they need of the forest.
Also attacks people that wanted to hunt animals that were taking care of their offspring.
He had backward feet to create footprints that confuse hunters by leading them in another direction.
I hope you like this legend and get excited for the next ones.
