As a Christian your life has a set pattern to follow from here on out. It is one of dealing death to yourself in one way and exercising yourself in life in another. The pattern of your salvation was one of dying to live. At salvation you died to that person you were, bound under the law by sin's condemnation, and you were born again as a new person set free in Christ. That is you were mortified and vivified. That is the pattern of your Salvation and also the pattern of your Sanctification.

Here is the one great lesson of the faithful who went before us. The one thing above all else that their faith will teach you and say to you is to -keep your eyes of Jesus.- Paul said it this way in 1 Corinthians 11-1, Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Don-t follow any supposed example of the faith left behind by another that doesn-t call you to throw your all upon Jesus. Don-t follow the steps of any person living or dead whose life isn-t lived out of complete surrender to Christ and complete trust in the merits of Christ alone. The person who raises himself or herself up as anything in themselves or who is seeking to make a name for themselves other than to be in the cloud of those who surround the throne of Jesus to worship and adore him are to be ignored. It is the Lord Jesus that we must fix our eyes upon and they are to teach us this or they teach nothing of worth and only what will harm us.

Faith produces miracles. The most glorious are the miracles of endurance and sacrifice when all remains unseen and seemingly unfulfilled. What word is there of those who suffered in faith- who suffered from loss to loss and hardship to hardship all the way down to the grave- How can we know that they made a good bet for the future- The evidence seems to indicate the opposite. Why not just eat and drink and be merry for tomorrow we will die-

What does Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David and Samuel teach us about faith- What about faith is most important- What is the secret to faith bearing a pleasing result-

The impact of Rahab's faith, the discovery of Rahab's faith, the activity of Rahab's faith and the reward. All demonstrate the hand of God at work in mercifully saving her and demonstrate the way of God in saving all His people.

Rahab's faith rose in the midst of moral darkness within herself and in her community. It came also without the witness of ambassadors of light. It is a story that reveals the sovereign hand of God in the saving faith of every believer.

Jericho's crumbling walls are a picture of God's plan for His church. We have been promised victory against the powers of this age in our mission to advance the gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth. It is also a picture of the victory God promises to give each child of God over sin and self in the warfare of the faith. But this victory cannot be realized unless we take the steps of faith that lead to victory.

It seems quite clear from the passage that these are the words of the Lord Jesus. He is making the appropriate application to all that has been written to the church in the book of Revelation. Now I think that it is right to see this passage as a practical point of application for those who have come to the end of the whole book -the Bible-. God-s redemptive program in history has been outlined throughout. Now the question is what answer to it should this revelation find in the hearts of those He has redeemed- What is the response God finds in the one who has gained an understanding of what God has done, is doing and will do for His people- Jesus tells us.

What vision led Moses to live without fear in the face of Pharaoh- What did Moses encounter that banished the fear of human power from his life- Do you live in fear- What will conquer it so that you may live a fearless life. Here we find the answer in Moses sight of the invisible God and his sight of God's Savior in the midst of His suffering people.
