Paul take us back to Genesis 15 and the promise God made there to Abraham. Starting with very man that the Jews claimed gave them a separate and distinct classification from all the world, Paul will demonstrate it is just the opposite—That in Abraham a faith is broadcast to all the world by which all may be right with God and in relationship with Him. Abraham didn't establish a distinct race or nation of people who had a singular claim on God and his blessing. Through Abraham God generated a work that would produce multiple races or nations that would come to exist or rise up in the blessing of God's promises. Like Abraham, the Israelites are starting point for the unfolding of this blessing; they are a case study throughout the Bible from beginning to end of God's faithfulness to bring this blessing and promise to complete fruition. But they are not alone... in the promises of faith and of life are to come to a multitude of nations.

They did not see the atoning work of Jesus Christ at the cross. It was missed by nearly all. Why? When He spoke so plainly of that work, when the prophecies of scripture told of the suffering savior, how was it missed and what does this ignorance mean?

In Romans 4:1-8 Paul directs us to the first verse in the Bible that definitively declares the doctrine of justification by faith. Genesis 15:6. And Paul takes the two of the greatest heroes in Israel and makes them the poster figures of this great doctrine.

The accusation is that salvation through grace by faith nullifies the law. Paul says, "Not at all. We establish the law." What is it that is being suggested is nullified and what of the law do we establish and how do we establish it. For the answer consider the whole of Paul's letter. And in giving the answer rejoice in the breadth of Christ's salvation.

The Demands of the law will not bring God's salvation to you... but the demand of faith will. When you meet that demand you know that your faith in Christ is nothing to boast about.

How does God demonstrate or prove His righteousness in the saving work of Jesus Christ? As important why does He do so? What part does the forbearance of God have in the historical accounts of human life and in our lives today?

We begin by addressing whether propitiation or expiation is taught in Romans 3:25 and then we ask the question why Blood is the currency, the transacting measure that accomplishes our Salvation.

Retrieving the right view of the doctrine of propitiation. It was necessary that God not only answer our need for cleansing but His own need for justice and the satisfaction of His holy wrath against sins if He were to save us from them.

Justification, Grace, Redemption considered in one of the most important verses in the Bible.

From Romans 3:21-23 we are introduced to a Righteousness of God that it TO ALL and UPON ALL who believe. A reason for this provision is given, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Here our total lack of ability to become righteous is stated but also here is stated the condition that brought forth God's saving work.
