  • Footsteps to Heaven - What is God doing in the Church Crisis?
Episode #44: When the sex abuse scandals first came to light two decades ago and the bishops met and made some policies to protect minors, I predicted that God was not finished purging the Church of abusive clergy. The bishops did too little. There are other kinds of abuses and all are terribly sinful. In this episode, I share how I’ve dealt with abusive priests. While this exposes more about the crisis of sin, it also shows the power of prayer for stopping abuses. By asking, “What is God doing in the Church Crisis?” we find the divine purpose that each of us are called to embrace.

  • Catholic Answers Live - Open Forum Part 2 10-17-19
Callers choose the topics during Open Forum, peppering our guests with questions on every aspect of Catholic life and faith, the moral life, and even philosophical topics that touch on general religious belief.
    Questions Covered:
01:27 - In Luke’s gospel, in the agony of the garden, it says that the disciples were a stones’ throw away from Jesus. Who could have heard him speak in the garden?
05:01 - My parish tells me that in order to get married in the Church, my fiancé, who was previously married outside of the Church, must get an annulment. Is this true?
13:10 - How did Melchisedec serve a priest?
17:41 - I’m still a Protestant. I listen to Catholic Answers but also Protestants. How can I better understand the early Church? Protestants tell me that the early Church did not look like the current Catholic Church.
34:28 - I am a Protestant. In the Hail Mary, you call Mary the mother of God. Can you help me to understand this more?
40:20 - My understanding is that although Mary was protected from original sin, she still had free will. Why weren’t the rest of us graced with this?
47:46 - What does James 2 tell us about faith and works?
53:35 - 1/4 of my Church has kneelers and ¾ of the Church does not. What can I do about this? I want there to be kneelers throughout the Church so that the posture of the congregation is uniform and sacred during the liturgy.

28:51 - If we believe in Mary’s perpetual virginity, then does that mean that Joseph and Mary had an invalid marriage?
31:00 - When the demons ask Jesus for something in Matthew 28, does that count as them praying to Him?
35:23 - How do Catholics interpret the book of Revelation?

  • The Catholic Man Show - Men in the Church
Men in the Church: Importance of men’s groups and men being active in the parish life.
We are looking for a few men who are taking their faith seriously.

About our drink: Rock Oyster Blended Malt
    Rock Oyster Blended Malt Whisky
Joining Douglas Laing’s range of blended malts in early 2015, Rock Oyster is a magnificent maritime marvel made with single malts distilled on Scottish islands including Orkney, Jura, Arran and Islay. As ever from Douglas Laing, this tasty, coastal dram is very handsomely presented from top to bottom (looks like Sam will have to add an oyster to his imagination of The Douglas Laing Force).
In reference to Rock Oyster, Douglas Laing’s Managing Director Fred Laing said “If I could select just one dram to transport the whisky enthusiast to the Islands of Scotland, it would be this one.” So go on and take a coastal trip by way of wonderful blended malt Scotch whisky.
Nose: Wind-swept beaches, coastal peat and a hint of ash, complimented by touches of green fruit.
Palate: Yet more sea breeze, with oat cake crumbs, growing spicy notes of cracked black pepper and a deft whiff of peat smoke. Hints of vanilla here and there.
Finish: Salinity lasts on the finish along with peppery warmth.

  • The Catholic Man Show - Can a Christian Drink? Catholic Answers Focus
Catholic Answers has Adam and David on their podcast, Catholic Answers Focus
Is it okay for Christians to be drinking alcohol? What does the Church say about drinking and virtue? We talk about it on Catholic Answers Focus with Cy Kellett.
Catholic Answers Focus is an exciting podcast produced by Catholic Answers. Focus highlights in-depth conversations with Catholic leaders, newsmakers, and unsung heroes of the faith. With a wide array of topics and guests, and compelling commentary on current events, Catholic Answers Focus has something for everyone.
They drink, they smoke, they make a popular show for Catholic men (The Catholic Man Show), so we ask Adam and David to justify Catholic teaching on the acceptability of drinking. Wouldn’t God prefer that we all just stay away from the sauce and stick with tea? That depends, it turns out.

  • The Gary Zimak Show - Episode 032 - Don't Stop Praying!
There's no doubt that the Parable of the Unjust Judge (Luke 18:1-8) can be disturbing. Is Jesus really comparing our Heavenly Father to an unethical and uncaring judge? Not at all! What He's trying to do is get our attention (mission accomplished!) and help us to realize the importance of persistent prayer. This week on the Gary Zimak Show, we'll break open the Mass readings for the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time and learn about the POWER of PRAYER!
