After following his work for many years and meeting him in person at the GK Chesterton Conference (click here for that episode), we had the great honor of interviewing Mr. Joseph Pearce on the Salt and Light podcast! In this episode we focus on Mr Pearce’s book “Small is Still Beautiful- Economics as if families mattered” and discuss current economics, both macro and micro, how individuals should treat and use money in both commerce and investing, and the impotance of the fmaily unit itself and what it has to do with society and the economy.

    Evil is often done by ordinary men.  Evil is banal. If you haven’t realized  this then you have not been awake to the domain of pain which we inhabit.  We are in great peril, teetering on the cliff  edge of chaos. But since some cannot admit it their vision reaches only to the the curtains of their dreams. They ignore the chaos beyond the window.  

    A rational materialist sees what is happening and hardens or despairs. An ordinary man may commit astoundingly evil acts under the influence of a faulty ideology.   When one does believe, however, and realizes the truth of the Presence, one will perceive that the depravity of the world will finally be healed. When we merge with the Presence order assembles out of chaos. This podcast was inspired by the work of the phenomenal Jordan Peterson.

Right now, I am recovering from surgery in upstate New York.  Recently, during my recovery our students from our two Carmelite schools in the Bronx sent me ‘Get well’ letters.  To say that I started to cry while reading these letters would be an understatement.  While reading these letters I noticed that my little acts of just being present to the kids, meant the world to them, which I was surprised by.  Today, I offer a reflection about what we can learn from these little moments that meant so much to these kids.
