Episode #74: Here's the reason to have hope -- with confidence! -- that your loved ones who have turned away from Christ will be saved. Your prayers do make a difference. God has a plan. Jesus stated very clearly in John 6:39-40 and John 10:27-29 that no one -- not even the devil -- can take them out of the Father's hands. Discover God's wonderful purposes for allowing your loved ones to stray into sin for a season. Armed with this truth, you be able to keep praying, but now with joy instead of worry!

Listen to the new episode: Join us as Fathers Ricardo and Phillip reflect on what a loving relationship with God looks like.

Fr. Brian O’Brien joins us to talk about resilience

About our drink:

Jameson 18 year – A blend of whiskies aged in American bourbon barrels and European oak casks, before finally being finished in first fill bourbon barrels, this whiskey earned a score of 95 points from Wine Enthusiast.

Tasting Notes: Nose opens with spicy oak and toffee, which is followed by more toffee and fudge notes on the palate, as well as subtle hints of sherry. The bourbon cask finishing leads to a smooth, vanilla finish, brightened by previous notes of toffee and caramel.

About our gear:

Fortitude: American Resilience in the Era of Outrage by Dan Crenshaw

FORTITUDE is a no-nonsense advice book for finding the strength to deal with everything from menial daily frustrations to truly difficult challenges. More than that, it is a roadmap for a more resilient American culture. With meditations on perseverance, failure, and finding much-needed heroes, the book is the antidote for a prevailing “safety culture” of trigger warnings and safe spaces. Interspersed with lessons from history and psychology is Crenshaw’s own story of how an average American kid from the Houston suburbs went from war zones to the halls of Congress — and managed to navigate his path with a sense of humor and an even greater sense that, no matter what anyone else around us says or does, we are in control of our own destiny.

Our topic:

Resilience

Liv Harrison co-hosts and said the most absurd thing on social media that Taylor has to address by bringing back a long forgotten game, "Life Verse." Insanity ensued.

Our guest this week is Fr. Agustino Torres. He's a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal and one of the best speakers this country has. He shares what's been on his heart and mind recently...and also dances to to the intro and outro music which is just special. Find more from Father at Corazonpuro.org.

The final segment is all about learning from failure with references to one of your favorite social media apps, The Last Dance, the Alamo and 300.

As we prepare to celebrate Pentecost Sunday, the Church encourages us to anticipate the arrival of the Holy Spirit. This week, Gary will look at the Mass readings for the Sixth Sunday of Easter. The message is clear - Get ready for the Holy Spirit!

About a week ago my friend Kendra Von Esh called me out on her Facebook page.  By the way check out her channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UComOLNKo70zgeWxOJEJChlQ As a convert what is Mary's role and some objections I had?  Her role is to lead us to her son Jesus.  In this brief episode I touch on her Perpetual virginity, her as Mother of God, and the Assumption.
