Saved through faith (Eph 2:8)
Overcome by faith (1 John 5:4)
Walk by faith (2 Cor 5:7)
Fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim 6:12)
Live by faith (Hab 2, Rom 1, Gal 2, Heb 10)
Mark 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have
faith in God.”
● We are to believe in God, have faith in God, or you
could say it this way...be in a relationship with
God.
● Bro. Hagin’s testimony of rising off his death bed
as a teenager.
Heb. 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please
Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek
Him.
● If God demands us to have faith when it is
impossible for us to have faith, then we have the
right to challenge His justice.
● BUT, if He places within our hands the means faith
can be produced, then the responsibility falls on
us whether or not we have faith.
Who has faith?
● Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me,
to everyone who is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think, but to
think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a
measure of faith.
How does faith come?
● Rom 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God.
What is faith?
1. Faith-Acting like the Bible is true
2. Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For
by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By
faith we understand that the worlds were framed
by the word of God, so that the things which are
seen were not made of things which are visible.
3. Faith is corresponding action - or a verb James
2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so
faith without works is dead also.
4. Faith is the victory that overcomes the World. 1
John 5:4-5.
a. It allows you to be in the world but not of it.
b. OR - In this life you will have tribulation, but
be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
c. OR - Faith keeps its but in the right place.
Numbers 13:26 This is exactly what God
said, the land truly flows with milk &
honey...but, or nevertheless, or
unfortunately there are giants there and it
will be better for us to die in the wilderness.
Example Healing
Acts 14:8-10 And in Lystra a certain man without
strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his
mother’s womb, who had never walked. 9 This man
heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and
seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10 said with a
loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he
leaped and walked.
1. We see here that faith for healing comes the same
way as faith for salvation.
2. This man was not healed by a gift of the Spirit, or
by Paul’s faith, or because Paul was an apostle.
3. Paul did 3 things.
a. Preached the gospel
b. Perceived the man had faith to be healed
c. Gave the command to rise up and walk
4. The man did 3 things
a. He heard Paul preach the gospel
b. He had faith to be healed. You could say it
this way he believed the message that Paul
was preaching.
c. He responded to the Word, being a doer, and
rose up and walked.
Rom 4:12 we walk in the steps of the faith of Abraham
● vs 17 Call those things that be not as though they
were (Gen 15:5 stars in sky) We have two options:
whine about our circumstances or we can speak
the Word.
● vs 18 when it looks hopeless, you still believe that
it's possible.
● vs 19 consider not your circumstances (you turn
your attention from the report and place your
attention on the word of God) 1 Tim 1:18 This
charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to
the prophecies previously made concerning you,
that by them you may wage the good warfare
● vs 20 do not waver but be strengthened giving
glory to God (Psalm 103 Bless the Lord)
