Diet - the kinds of food that a person habitually

eats.

Gen 2:15 Then the Lord God took the man and

put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep

it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man,

saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may

freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of

good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that

you eat of it you shall surely die.”

1. Gal 5:22 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,

peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.

Against such there is no law.

2. Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the

flesh set their minds on the things of the

flesh, but those who live according to the

Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be

carnally minded is death, but to be

spiritually minded is life and peace.

3. James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding

among you? Let him show by good conduct

that his works are done in the meekness of

wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and

self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast

and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom

does not descend from above, but is

earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where

envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and

every evil thing are there. 17 But the

wisdom that is from above is first pure,

then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full

of mercy and good fruits, without partiality

and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of

righteousness is sown in peace by those

who make peace.

a. Wisdom that descends from above

produces peace, gentleness,

submission, mercy...

b. Wisdom that ascends from below

produces bitterness, envy, confusion,

and every evil thing

4. Col 3:1 If then you were raised with Christ,

seek those things which are above, where

Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2

Set your mind on things above, not on

things on the earth.

Gen 3:6-11

1. They were deceived. They changed their

diet. They started consuming wisdom that

ascended from below rather than

descended from above.

2. What fruit did they eat? Shame, guilt,

separation, confusion, condemnation and

death

3. Some fruit will cause you to grow in your

relationship with God and some fruit will

cause your relationship with God to decay.

Choose life, feed your spirit, resist your flesh and

run thoughts contrary to the Word of God out of

your mind.
