Keys are designed to grant you access to something or
someplace valuable.
● Keys are not utilized to withhold something from
you...they are designed to hold something for you.
If you have a key, you can access the thing or place that
holds value.
2 Cor 5:17-21 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a
new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all
things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God,
who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ,
and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that
is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has
committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now
then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God
were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's
behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who
knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him.
What does it mean to be righteous?
● Righteousness defined simply means being in right
standing with God.
● The state of being righteous gives a person the
ability to stand before God, free of guilt,
condemnation, fear, and inferiority.
● Righteousness allows us to begin living for God,
and qualifies us to be productive in His Kingdom
● Our righteousness, that is placed upon us when
we start a relationship with Jesus, empowers us to
do His will, on His earth, before we have
everything in our own life figured or straightened
out.
What does righteousness look like with skin on?
Your reaction to what you see when you look into a
mirror will give you a grade on how well you are doing
as a believer walking in the Righteousness of God in
Christ Jesus.
1. We look in a mirror, and who we see is not who we
want to be...faults, sins, shortcomings do you feel:
a. inferior, less than, ashamed, guilty
b. Manipulate the word so you can continue in
your current state
i. 1 Peter 2:16 don’t use your liberty as a
cloak for vice but to serve the Lord
ii. Rom 6:2 How shall we who died to sin
live any longer in it?
c. I am no longer bound by this current state I
am in, I am a representative of Jesus, with
His resources I can walk free of these things.
2. We look in a mirror, and see who we are not...we
are not focused on the bad we have done but on
the good we have not done.
a. failure, inefficiency, NEVER, we compare
ourselves with others
b. Manipulate the word so you can continue in
your current state
c. I have help, hope and future, I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me. I
work together with the Lord, I am a minister
of reconciliation, a representative of the
Most High God.
