● Signs & wonders
● Preach & teach the Word
Luke 13:6 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man
had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came
seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 Then he said to the
keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have
come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it
down; why does it use up the ground?’ 8 But he
answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also,
until I dig around it and fertilize it. 9 And if it bears fruit,
well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”
● God is patient...but He will require repentance
● The Lord will do everything to get me to a place of
fruitfulness...but ultimately the one who is
responsible for being fruitful is me.
Repentance - Changing your thoughts and actions from
serving yourself toward serving God.
● Repentance isn’t saying you're sorry
● Repentance isn’t feeling remorse
● Repentance requires faith, change, and forward
progress toward repair, restoration, reconciliation,
or growth.
● Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and
let every one of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
○ Peter talked of the Christ, who He would be,
and what He would do. He then testified that
the Christ was Jesus...who they resisted,
killed, and has since resurrected from the
dead.
○ The people were cut to the heart, they
believed, they got saved, and they received
the gift of the Holy Spirit.
○ Hear the Word, receive the Word, and do the
Word.
● Philemon is about a man who had repented, had
faith to change and made forward progress
toward being restored in the relationship that he
violated.
● Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth and
said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no
partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears
Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
