Babylon looks beautiful right up until you see what she’s holding and where she’s headed. We dig into Revelation 17 and follow John into the wilderness where a scarlet beast carries “Babylon the Great,” a stunning symbol of seductive influence, corrupt power, and spiritual compromise. “It is done” is one of the most sobering lines in all of Revelation, and we slow down long enough to feel the weight of it. Revelation 15 drops us into a moment where the last plagues are announced, the wrath of God reaches its completion, and the people who overcame the beast stand steady with harps in hand. We walk line by line through the chapter’s structure, then slow down to ask the real question: what kind of God inspires worship right before the bowls are poured out?

We connect the dots across Revelation’s big patterns: seven seals, seven trumpets, and now the seven bowls of wrath. Revelation 14 does not let us keep judgment at arm’s length. One moment we’re looking at the Lamb standing on Mount Zion with the 144,000, and the next we’re hearing three angels announce the eternal gospel, Babylon’s fall, and a warning about wrath that’s described like wine poured full strength.

We talk through the chapter in a clear outline and then slow down where the questions pile up: Is the 144,000 symbolic of the whole church or a literal group from Israel, and what does it mean that they’re called “virgins”? Why does Revelation tie suffering to worship through a song no one else can sing? And what do we do with the brutal images of the harvest of the earth and the winepress of God’s wrath?

A healed head wound, fire from heaven, a global rush to worship, and a number that makes even grocery receipts feel ominous, Revelation 13 is intense for a reason. We open the chapter carefully, tracing the beast from the sea, the beast from the earth, and the moment the text says there’s a call for patient endurance and faithfulness. If you’ve ever wondered how to read apocalyptic literature without guessing, spiraling, or flattening everything into headlines, this conversation gives you a framework and a steady pace through the passage. 

We spend real time on the mark of the beast and 666, including the debate over symbolism versus literal reality. The key link we keep coming back to is Deuteronomy 6: hand and forehead language is already in the Bible as a picture of what you love, trust, and obey. Finally, we land on hope: God remains sovereign, the book of life is the only register that lasts, and faithful endurance is not wasted because the Lamb wins.
