Have you ever had an injury you needed to wrap a bandage around it? The purpose of the bandage is to stop the bleeding. Our heart gets wounded, we get hurt, and we want to keep it from hurting. So we add a little bit more bandage and a little bit more bandage, and then we don't want to take the bandage off because it might stick to the scab of our heart. So we just leave the bandage on and then we get hurt again. And the same cycle keeps happening and we keep wrapping another bandage on and another bandage on to protect ourselves until eventually our bandages become bondages and our whole heart, our whole mind are completely bound with the things that we thought were fixing us.
