At the very beginning of March, Women's Herstory Month, I was reminded about the importance of having a conversation with a courageous Black woman. I was reminded that taking the time to talk to a courageous Black woman, may change your life. Their stories, their risks, and their ability to unknowingly pour into you and charge the battery that is in your back, is so necessary and unmatched.

I decided to conduct a series of interviews with some of the courageous Black women in my life. I'm certain their stories are either relatable, or will be the sign you need to just do it. My first guest is Brittney -- an amazing Black woman who packed up her life in the middle of a pandemic and moved across the country to pursue more. Her journey to where she is today has definitely been molded by the paths she took along the way. She may not have ended where she thought she would, but she's happy, nonetheless and excited for what's to come.

It's February and it's love month and I broke bread with someone I hold near and dear to my heart, my best friend, Tiffany. We spoke about the importance of friendships and how sometime friendship breakups are tough and aren’t talked about enough. I reveal a few things about our relationship that she’s hearing and responding to for the first time and thankfully, our friendship stood the test of time because it’s evolved as we have. We talk about nurturing the right friendships and also, letting the wrong friendships go. Communication and Accountability are key, and apparently, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I need therapy :). From debates during out time in the Summer Law Institute to pledging different sororities, we know the best honey mustard in town and will go food shopping over partying! She’s the Thelma to my Louise and I wouldn’t push her away for anyone. Is there room for a best friend and partner, if they’re not the same person? Can they co-exist? I think so, what about you?

This midnight snack is coming in hot, so grab some hot cocoa or a glass of wine and take in all of this food for the friendship soul.

It's January -- time to begin again, especially after such a tumultuous 2020. It's an informal introduction to the Rich Aunties as I invite my sisters, Narine and Nicole, to chat and chew during this episode. The first question is, are we really rich? I guess it depends on your definition. We talk about what we'd do differently if we knew then, what we know now, nicknames, growth, not goals and a few isms to leave you with.

We continue the conversation and get into the practice of radical self-care. Why would you love on someone more than you're willing to love on yourself?  Normalize treating yourself and being luxurious. SURPRISE!!! I invited 8 women to my home for brunch to celebrate them and just talk. The Covid-19 pandemic changed the way we live, and for single black women like us #shamelessplug, it removed a lot of our distractions, forcing us to sit with our thoughts, conquer our fears, love on ourselves, hone in on passions and be MUCH more protective of our peace.
