Healthcare professionals, are you ready to take a stand? Learn about the political determinants of health and how you can make a difference on this must-listen podcast

In this episode of the Healthcare Education Transformation Podcast, we talk with guest Dr. Karla A. Bell and take a deep dive into the often ignored but crucial aspect of healthcare: politics. Dr. Bell brings with them their social justice roots to the forefront as they discuss the political determinants of health and how legislative decisions have real effects on healthcare equity and access. You'll learn about the definition of political determinants of health and how it influences and impacts health equity. We also discuss the importance of paying attention to politics in healthcare and how public policy decisions impact communities and healthcare access. We provide ideas and approaches for healthcare practitioners to get involved and make a difference, such as staying informed and advocating for health equity. By the end of the podcast, listeners will understand the need to be a more informed and active healthcare professional, and how to take steps to make a positive impact on their communities.
