he Championship play-off final scheduled for Saturday, 23 May could be postponed while the English Football League (EFL) investigates the “Spygate” controversy involving finalists Southampton.An Independent Disciplinary Commission is set to hold a hearing on or before Tuesday, 19 May after Southampton were charged with breaching EFL regulations by allegedly watching a Middlesbrough training session ahead of last Saturday’s semi-final first leg at the Riverside Stadium.Southampton are currently due to face Hull City in the final, with promotion to the Premier League at stake.Although the EFL still expects the match to proceed as planned with a 16:30 BST kick-off, it has warned supporters that disciplinary proceedings could still lead to changes to the fixture.
