Thrive Even With Trauma

Breaking Free From The Toxic Cycle

Listen Later

In today's episode, we discuss a common struggle many of my clients face: the toxic cycle of on-again, off-again relationships. This cycle often involves feelings of guilt, shame, hope and a vision of a better relationship that keeps individuals trapped in unhealthy dynamics.

The initial stages of a relationship can feel idyllic, with partners treating each other well and creating a vision of a perfect life together. This dream often includes community, support groups, and even blended families, creating a sense of having finally achieved a long-desired life. However, this idyllic vision can become a powerful force that keeps you clinging to the relationship even when it becomes toxic.

Breaking free from this toxic cycle is incredibly challenging. Many clients struggle with feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, unable to move on despite the logical understanding that the relationship is detrimental.

In this episode I offer insights and support for those navigating the complexities of toxic relationships.
