In this episode, I'm joined by Jen Peters—visionary, inner child and trauma healer, and bestselling author of Coming Home: The Path to Healing Your Inner Child.
We explore the deep link between early childhood experiences, codependency, and narcissistic relationships —even for those who didn't grow up in obviously abusive homes. Jen shares powerful insights on how to break free from these patterns and begin the journey of healing, self-trust, and emotional freedom.
Codependent behaviors often include people-pleasing, saying "yes" when we want to say "no," and prioritizing others' needs over our own. We might make excuses for bad behavior, believing others need time to change or that we can help them heal. But by continuously sacrificing our own needs and tolerating poor treatment, we prevent both ourselves and others from growing.
True healing begins when we focus on ourselves, stop self-abandoning, and prioritize our own growth. Staying in these unhealthy dynamics doesn't help anyone—it's essential to recognize when it's time to step back and create space for change.
