With DragonCon, looming Charles has been working with a lot of different creators. He is challenging the crew with the question “Why do you Call Yourself a Pro?” With Bobby Blackwolf on board, all five of us consider ourselves professionals and we cover a lot of different reasons why. Then after the show, we found the quote that is on the cover art. “Professionalism is an Attitude - not a time commitment.” ~ Deb Bixler. If you believe that then you are a pro whether you like it or not.

We are learning that Mike Ellison is a bit like a puppy. He looks good fuzzy, has great breath, and gets so excited he pees on the floor! So he asks us old dogs "How do you handle waiting for something exciting?" Phil buries himself in work, Tony P. finds ways to ignore it, and Charles just lives moment to moment. There obviously is so much more to this dumpster fire that we can't really describe it in words. So hit our socials or email and let us know how you wait.
We Show Some Love:
Mike has a few cool panels he is doing for DragonCon Goes Virtual. But to avoid being like Charles and the self-love he is adding a few of his friend's panels. Check out the schedule.

Tony P. really shows us all what it means to have a professional rockstar type intro for your show. But in all sincerity, we use the dumpster fire as our logo for a reason. He wanted all of us to share our favorite DragonCon Memories so far as we get excited for DragonCon Goes Virtual 2020. Our guest tonight is Bobby Blackwolf of Vognetwork.com. He has been a friend of ours for a while and has attended DragonCon since 1995. So if you are keeping track he has been going the longest, then Tony P., then Charles, Phil, and Mike. Charles has an odd flex in this episode but it is well earned, and we all have a great time sharing some of our favorite experiences. Won't you come and share yours?
We Show Some Love:
One of Tony p’s great passions in life is DragonCon. Tonight he shows the love for the Digital Media Track as it is kicking off this weekend.

Mike Ellison jumped into this episode with his amazement of DC Movies that are upcoming. With all of the DC movie trailers that dropped. He asks us "Are DC Movies Getting Better?" Oddly enough Charles hasn't seen any of them. Phil had his commentary and Tony P brought in the humor as he does. He wanted to talk Marvel but we kept him on track. It was a great discussion of past movies and the upcoming films and we want to know what you think.
We Show Some Love:
Mike has mad love for a new podcast called Protest Too Much! Based on shakespeare characters it's a debate to the death on which character out of two is the best. Subscribe now! https://anchor.fm/p2mpod

Phil jumps into his childhood with the question of what were the toys that you wanted but never got. It brought up some great memories of toys that we had forgotten. Names you know pop up like He-Man, Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, and the like. And we learn of toys we really weren't that familiar with. It was kind of like going to a toy fair. Then the tragedy hits. We hear of Charles's stories of crushed dreams, and then Phil mentions the dreaded Virtual Boy. It's all downhill after that. So won't you tell us what toy you wanted but never received?
We Show Some Love:
Phil loves a great documentary and has a special place for the Action Figure Adventure releasing soon. Our good friends at Toy Power Podcast should be making an appearance in that film and we are eager to see it!

Tony P. Henderson kicks us off with a question about gaming consoles. Specifically, he wants to know the stories of your first gaming system. Charles says he has a sad origin story and it throws Tony off. In general, we all have a unique story to tell of how we were introduced to gaming and what the first systems we owned were. And that's the key. Not the first system we played but the first one that was our very own. Phil always blows us away with his story and what he owns today. Yeah, he shows off some of his original consoles while we record this episode. So share your story with us. Or if you desire throw us your own question of what stories, theories, and beliefs that you want to hear about.
We Show Some Love:
Tony is super stoked about DragonCon goes Digital and wants us to know all about the live weekend for the Digital Media Track. Find it here!

Charles lives in his own universe and we all know this. Right now he is asking us "Who is Your Animation Alter Ego?" So even though we had to start out with Mike Ellison missing in action, Tony and Phil hold their own. So the game is this - first you get to say who you think you are in that animated universe and then the other hosts pick for you. And then we throw out the rules and simply start picking the characters for everyone. The universes that we run through are Looney Toons, Hannah Barbera, Futurama, and finally South Park. I mean Tony tried to insert some random animation but we quickly moved on! Feel free to let us know who you are or better yet throw in a different animation and tell us who we are to you!

Chris brings us our final topic of "What's Next?" Its been a long journey of ups and downs as we have done this show. It spawned from a show about a game, became a network, and a show about comic geekery. Over the years we have grown and changed. The faces, the topics, the relationships, and overall life has taken its course. Sometimes in life and in media, we grow together sometimes changes are inevitable. Phil talks about a new project he is working on as does Charles. Tony and Chris share different things from their life and then we say our goodbyes to BTP. We will always be grateful to Brian Ibbott and Paul Klotz for being there, in the beginning, to kick this off. Klotz put in five years and help guide this project. Chris Wisdom has always been a believer and a fan all along. And of course you the fans and listeners of this show. We love you all and wouldn't be able to grow without you. Now its time for a new beginning.
Almost Daily Discourse is the new project moving forward. Please join us at Anchor.fm/AlmostDailyPod, on Twitter.com/AlmostDailyPod, and Facebook.com/AlmostDailyPod. We are excited about the new path and energy that we are building! Join our panel of podcast all-stars as they ponder a new discussion question almost every weekday. The discourse ranges from the empirical to the hypothetical and may result in conversational magic… or an utter dumpster fire. Either way, you won’t want to miss it. A proud partner of the Giant-Size Team-Up network.

Charles has his moments. I mean in his own world in his own head. He kicks off the show tonight with a story of his youngest son and Guitar Hero. He realizes that it was a dumb way to impress so he asks the boys what are "The Dumb Things we do to Impress Others?" Everyone takes a turn dumping on the Rock God of Podcasting, but then they share their own story. At some point, we shift gears to talk about the things we have done to impress that we regret. All the way through we continue to surprise each other and make each other laugh.
