I graduated with a first class integrated masters degree in chemistry, which included an industrial year at AstraZeneca. I then went on to do my PhD on peptide self-assembly for biomedical applications that was based on an interdisciplinary approach, taking a scientific discovery in chemistry and translating it into a potentially beneficial tool for biomedical engineering.
During my PhD I won numerous prizes including the University of Leeds postgraduate researcher of the year 2010.
