On this week's episode of the CWC podcast, I am talking again about breast implant illness. This time, I discuss the unexpected mental side effects of BII, including intrusive thoughts that haven’t fully disappeared. Like me, many of the women I’ve spoken to with BII have experienced similar symptoms, had doctors dismiss their concerns, and have been fighting uphill battles with their insurance companies for what is widely considered an elective procedure. Talking with others, especially a therapist, has been instrumental in my recovery, and I would encourage those who are able to seek out a therapist or community for support.
