On today’s episode of the PHOENIX magazine podcast, we are on location to check out Wicked Brews, Bites and Spirits in Ahwatukee.
Owner Chip Mahoney opened the brewpub in late 2020 in the old spot vacated by Uncle Bear’s on Ray Road and 50th Street. Mahoney hired Zach Schroeder on as head brewer after Schroeder’s long and distinguished career brewing for Phoenix Ale Company and Sonoran Brewing.
We get to sample a flight of Wicked’s best brews, talk a little football since its a Chiefs and KU bar, relive some history of that area of Ahwatukee and we get their thoughts on awards vs. rewards for their beer.
