Triumphantly returning for the fourth, sixth, or third time (we lost count) the boys enjoy a Hazy IPA from local SoCal brewers Arrow Lodge Brewing. The delicious Culture Vulture sports El Dorado and Motueka hops as well as Bird Pick Tea with a punch of Guava flavor. In gaming news the boys do a quick run through of all the things they missed during their break. With everything from the release of the PS5 and Series X and the recent Activision/Blizzard lawsuit, this episode is packed with gaming discussion, banter, and the horrible jokes you have come to expect from Tracy, Jack and Anthony.
For this week's episode. Jack needed a break from IPA's and Allagash Brewing's Night Sky Stout provided the perfect relief from the hops. While sipping the roasty, light-bodied goodness, the boys discuss procedural generation in the upcoming Elder Scrolls, the purchase of Codemasters by Take-Two Interactive, and all the future updates to the PS5 in order to make it a more functional console. Pepper in some news about Battlefield and the Spiderman remaster and you have yourself a pretty typical episode of Brews and News.
Back after a week off, the boys discuss news regarding the delayed release of Cyberpunk 2077, announced details of the PS5 a week before its release, and the new season of Apex Legends. For this episode, Tracy brought not one but two beers from Smog City Brewing. The first is the Amarilla Gorilla. a full bodied combo of hops and tropical flavors and the second, Dynamic Pressure, is a part of their Smog Days IPA Series that brings the hops and flavor.
This week brought a bounty of discussion and a delicious double IPA courtesy of Almanac Brewing Co. The boys discuss the addition of non-skipable ads to NBA2k21, the comments made by Microsoft's Phil Spencer, and the recent additions to Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima. We close it out by discussing the broader effects of Free to play games following the release of games like Hyper Scape, Rogue Company and Spellbreak.
This week Jack is back to talk games and drink some beer with Tracy and Anthony. New Belgium's Voodoo Ranger Spicy Atomic Pumpkin Ale is the drink of choice for the episode. With cinnamon and pumpkin flavors backed by a spicy habanero punch, this beer kept us rattling on about the popularity of Among Us, the purchase of Ruffian Games by Rockstar, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and the expectations of the new Dual Sense controller for the PS5. With some spicy mouths and spicy opinions, this week brought the heat.
This week is a special episode as Jack is busy with life, so Anthony and Tracy take the reigns. They discuss everything from Steve coming to Smash Bros. to their most anticipated games of the Next Gen. Temblor provides a Mango IPA for the brew of the episode entitled Hay-z. Jack will be back next week to join the guys in all the latest news.
After a long break due to quarantine, the Brews and News Dudes are back with a crack as they try 2 different Alesmith brews. The biggest news of the week revolves around the impending console wars between Microsoft and Sony. We talk about the announced pricing, compare all the different versions and wrap it up with a discussion over the huge purchase of Xenical by Microsoft. Alesmith's Alesmith for Hope and Diego Antonio brews hit the IPA profiles just right
Back from another break (sorry everyone, believe it or not we are adults) the boys discuss the news of the HBO Last of Us TV series in production, Reggie Fils-Aimes joining the Gamestop Board of Directors, an incredibly expensive Nintendo Playstation auction, and finally the newly released Call of Duty: Warzone free to play battle royale. All the while we sip a smooth Pilsner from Weins Brewing in Temecula. Thank you all for your support!
This weeks discussion is rather Xbox heavy as we talk about the newly released specs of the upcoming console and the Smart Delivery service that saves gamers from purchasing a game twice. We also touch on Jack's impressions of Dreams and the recent string of cheating in Red Dead Redemption 2's online. Tracy and Anthony are happy with our baseball themed Two Seam IPA from Strike Brewing CO. With a low IBU and subtle hops flavor, the boys are looking forward to the next brew from this San Jose based brewery.
The boys are back with a special brew this week as they finally got their hands on another of Coronado Brewings Art Series beers. The Mango Sprinkles IPA paired well with our discussion of Media Molecules release of Dreams, Disney potential expanding their video game catalog and what we are willing to pay for the Playstation 5. We close it out with a discussion of the most iconic weapons in gaming history. Happy listening!
