  • Snallygaster 2026, Craft Beer Culture, Drinking Age History & Pop Culture

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

What up, Brewsers! The Legendary Brew Crew is back for Episode 331 of Brewsing Banter, your craft beer and culture podcast where great beer leads to unexpected conversations, hot takes, and plenty of unfiltered banter.

This week, we’re talking Snallygaster 2026, the legendary Washington, D.C. beer festival that brings together craft beer lovers, breweries, and some seriously memorable pours. We discuss standout beers, festival experiences, hyped-up releases, and what makes events like Snallygaster an important part of the craft beer community.

But we’re going beyond the beer. We unpack the complicated history behind the Snallygaster name, exploring folklore, racism, voter suppression, and the cultural implications behind the names and symbols we use. It’s a conversation about history, representation, and why understanding the past matters.

Then the banter takes its usual unexpected turns. We debate Disney World experiences, revisit the history of America’s legal drinking age and the push to make 21 the minimum age, and get into our latest thoughts on Snowfall's The Drop and television storytelling. From craft beer festivals to pop culture, no topic is safe when the Legendary Brew Crew gets together.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • Snallygaster 2026 and the Washington, D.C. craft beer festival scene
    • Standout beers, festival culture, and the craft breweries making an impression
    • The history and cultural significance of the Snallygaster name
    • Racism, voter suppression, and cultural appropriation
    • How America’s legal drinking age changed and why 21 became the standard
    • Disney World, theme park experiences, and whether the rides live up to the hype
    • Snowfall's The Drop, television, and the pop culture conversations that keep us talking

Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast, a festival regular, a history buff, or just here for the laughs and lively debates, pull up a seat in our virtual taproom.

  • We Really Went From Peas in a Pod to Billionaire Bunkers

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

    What up, Brewsers!

The Legendary Brew Crew is back, and somehow we go from craft beer to “two peas in a pod,” criminal justice, billionaire bunkers, Drake, dogs, TV, music, and whether you should tell somebody when they smell funky. Yeah… it’s one of those episodes.

We kick things off with what we’re drinking, including a shoutout to Porch Beer Drinkers and Volunteer Brewing Company’s Hellas Lager, before the conversation takes the scenic route. We get into the bizarre history of the phrase “two peas in a pod,” then somehow find ourselves talking about consent, the criminal justice system, the death penalty, and the trauma our generation has carried from everything from Columbine to 9/11 to COVID.

    Then things take another turn.

We debate billionaire survival bunkers, what happens when money no longer means anything, and whether the ultra rich could actually rebuild civilization after the apocalypse. From there, it’s straight into Drake’s latest visual project, his Degrassi days, his music, and why the Brew Crew has VERY different opinions about Aubrey Graham.

And because this is Brewsing Banter, we couldn't possibly stop there.

We talk about dogs, anxiety, stray dogs going wild, dog poop etiquette, what’s been hitting our screens, A Different World, Dutch, Bodies on Wheels, the music we’ve been discovering, and the eternal question: If somebody smells bad, who is responsible for telling them?

Grab a brew, pull up a chair, and come get into the banter.

Because around here, craft beer is the entry point and culture is the conversation.

  • The Replay Series: Human Robot, Philly Lagers & the Legendary Milk Tube

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

What up, Brewsers! The Legendary Brew Crew is reaching back into the vault for another Brewsing Banter Replay Series!

This time, we’re heading to Philly to hang out with Jake Atkinson, Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Human Robot Brewery, and getting the story behind one of the city’s most recognizable beer brands.

Jake chops it up with the crew about how Human Robot got started, the story behind the brewery’s name, and how lagers became such a major part of the Human Robot identity. We also get into Jake’s own journey into the craft beer industry and what helped shape the brewery along the way.

But you already know we couldn’t talk Human Robot without getting into one of the most legendary parts of the experience…

    Milk Tubes.

And yes, the Legendary Brew Crew gets in on the action with a Milk Tube chug. 🍺

This episode features beers from Human Robot and plenty of Philly beer culture, stories, laughs, and banter along the way.

Whether you remember this conversation or you’re discovering it for the first time, pull up a seat and revisit the taproom with us.

  • Craft Connections: Beer Education, Hospitality & the Future of Craft Beer

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

What up, Brewsers! The Legendary Brew Crew is back, and this time we’re tapping into the world of beer education, hospitality, and the culture behind the pour with Rachel Benkowski and Allo Gilinsky, co-founders of Craft Connections: Beverage Education Summit.

We crack open some brews and get into their journeys through the beer world, from gateway beers and Belgian yeast to advanced Cicerone education, archaeology, history, and the simple idea that beer brings people together.

But the conversation goes way beyond what’s in the glass. We chop it up about why hospitality matters, what happens when your bartender doesn’t know the beer they’re serving, how better staff education can transform the taproom experience, and why beer deserves the same level of thought and appreciation we often give wine.

Rachel and Allo also break down their vision for Craft Connections, an interactive beer education summit built around networking, sensory education, and staff training. Instead of another sit-and-listen conference, they’re creating a hands-on experience designed to give brewers, taproom teams, hospitality professionals, marketers, owners, and beer lovers knowledge they can actually take back with them.

And of course, we get into the fun stuff: underrated beer styles, beer and food pairings, the history of beer, why “hoppy” doesn’t automatically mean “bitter,” and some seriously unexpected beer pairings.

Grab a brew, pull up a chair, and join the banter as we explore why good beer is only part of the experience — the people, knowledge, and hospitality behind it matter too.

Craft Connections: Beer Beverage Education Summit takes place February 16–18, 2027, in Tempe, Arizona.

  • The Replay Series: The Beery Godmother — Beer Education, Cicerone Dreams & Beer Fact Friday

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

What up, Brewsers! The Legendary Brew Crew is cracking open the vault and bringing this one back for the Replay Series!

This week, we’re tapping in with LaTreace Harris, owner of The Beery Godmother LLC, a beer education consulting company dedicated to helping people learn more about the world of beer while having a good time doing it.

LaTreace chops it up with the crew about how she found her way into craft beer, her journey toward becoming a Cicerone, and why educating others has become such a big part of her passion. We also get into the story behind the “Beery Godmother” name and the inspiration for her beer education series, Beer Fact Friday.

Of course, we’re not just talking about beer. We’re drinking it too! This episode features brews from Dock Street Brewery, a Creature Comforts Brewing x Good Word Brewing collaboration, and a Human Robot x North Park Beer Co. collaboration.

It’s beer education, good conversation, plenty of banter, and a reminder that there’s always something new to learn when you grab a brew.

  • Social Media Addiction, AI & the Changing Craft Beer Festival Scene

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

The Legendary Brew Crew is back, and this episode goes exactly where you’d expect it to go: craft beer, social media addiction, AI, parenting, beer festivals, celebrity chaos, and a whole lot of unexpected rabbit holes.

The crew kicks off the conversation with social media addiction and kids, including whether platforms are intentionally designed to keep users hooked, how much responsibility falls on parents, and how algorithms can turn one click into an endless doom-scrolling session.

The crew also gets into AI and content moderation, the mental toll of moderating disturbing online content, and how technology continues to change the way we interact with social media.

Then it’s back to the beer world as the guys talk about the changing craft beer festival scene, the growing presence of cocktails and spirits at traditionally beer-focused events, and what that shift could mean for breweries and drinking culture.

And because this is Brewsing Banter, somehow the conversation still finds its way to movies, celebrities, Toy Story, Christmas music, ridiculous hypotheticals, and a hilariously difficult celebrity-guessing game.

It’s beer as the catalyst and culture as the conversation.

Tap in with the Legendary Brew Crew for another round of craft beer, culture, comedy, social commentary, and completely unnecessary debates,

  • Dogfish Head, Hip-Hop & the Art of Brewing Differently w/ Sam Calagione

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

What up, Brewsers! The Legendary Brew Crew is back with a special one. We’re sitting down with Sam Calagione, co-founder of Dogfish Head Brewery, fresh off his induction into the Craft Beer Hall of Fame.

Sam takes us back to the beginning—from discovering craft beer while working at a bar in New York to putting his English degree aside and writing the business plan that would become Dogfish Head.

We talk about Dogfish Head, Delaware craft beer, brewing innovation, entrepreneurship, and the evolution of the craft beer industry. Sam also shares how his love of hip-hop and punk rock influenced his creative approach to brewing and why Dogfish Head has always embraced unconventional ingredients and ideas.

But this conversation goes way beyond beer. We get into music, culture, collaboration, craft spirits, the challenges facing independent breweries, and what it takes to keep creativity alive while growing a major craft beer brand.

And Sam has plenty of stories—including Dogfish Head’s legendary music collaborations and a potential Outkast connection that definitely caught our attention.

So grab your favorite beer, pull up a chair, and tap in for a conversation about craft beer, creativity, music, entrepreneurship, and the Delaware brewery that refused to color inside the lines.

    What up, Brewsers!
