In His final answer to the question about who is the greatest, Jesus reminds the disciples about how He will serve them on His path to the cross and how we are called to have that same heart of a servant. What must you do to have the heart of a Jesus - the heart of a servant?

Often when we hear the first are last and the last are first, we think Jesus is saying that he has changed the rules to the race of life and the real winners are the losers. But if we listen to the parable that Jesus uses to explain this Kingdom concept, we find that it is about grace and how we're all in first and in last in the kingdom and how the right perspective in our spiritual life enables us to see what should really be our focus.

Each of us have experienced that feeling of emptiness in our hearts, that something is missing in our lives. And we have all tried to fill that emptiness with things that do not work. Jesus has a young man ask him about what he is missing in his life, but walks away sad when he hears what fills that emptiness and what it would take for him to recieve it. When you hear of the answer, will you walk away with that same emptiness or will you choose to allow Jesus to be enough for you?

"Forgiveness is not permission for people to hurt you; forgiveness is freedom from the pain of your past". Hear of how the power of the cross not only promises to bring you forgivness but how letting go of what people have done to us enables us to experience the power, love, and grace of Jesus in our lives.

Who is the greatest? This question from the disciples prompts a lesson in humility from Jesus. What Jesus says shows us how we are to value one another, live with one another, and ultimately what it takes to be a part of His kingdom at all. Listen to find the areas where pride might affect you without noticing it.

Does your faith move mountains? Jesus told his disciples that with a tiny measure of faith, tht nothing is impossible. but aren't there things that seem impossible in your life, things that will never change, relationships that are broken, people that will never be different? These important lessons about faith show us how Jesus can moves the mountains in your life.

Have you ever stood on a mountain top and looked down upon the beauty and splendor and glory around you? God wants you to have the same kind of experience with Him. As we see Peter, James, and John have this mountaintop experience where they see the glory of God in Jesus, we learn of how we can experiene the glory of God and what that can do in our lives.

We live in a world where it feels as if the gates of Hell are prevailing every day. But it is in Peter's confession that Jesus is the Christ and in understanding Jesus' response that we find the hope and the power to overcome anything that we are facing in life.

What causes you to forget about God in your everyday life? In this passage, we see people forget Jesus even though he is right in front of them. Listen to what caused these people to forget Jesus and what Jesus wants them to remember about him. Remembering Jesus is the first change that you need to make to help you see who God is and all that He has for you in life.

We've all been guilty of pretneidng that we are something that we are not, but are you guilty of that in your spiritual life as well? Are you living a life that gets approval from other people, that cares about traditions and what everyone else does, that wants to look like the real thing, but your heart is just not where it is suppossed to be? In this passage, Jesus gives us some of the symptoms of hypocisy and we hear of the kind of heart that lives beyond pretending.
