BREWtally Speaking Podcast

Enjoy this chat with Malxolm Brixkhouse from ex Unlocking the Truth as we dive into this heady chat about being a young kid who loved playing metal with his friends and being discovered and lauded as the next saviors of metal, and how that effected him as a young man and as an artist.

We also dive into Malxolm's extensive drug use, and how that has allowed him to learn more about himself and his surroundings, while also became a detriment to his own well being.

We also touch on this melting pot of genres happening right now in the hip hop/alternative scene, how it's reminiscent of the early alternative scene, and how the rock and metal world are often times the cause of it's limits and downfall and SO much more.

Phil Labonte, vocalist of All That Remains, returns as a guest on this episode of the BREWtally Speaking Podcast!!  \\

Phil returns to wax nostalgic about 15 years of their album, The Fall of Ideals.  Although it deviates into us talking about video games, issues we have with some of our favorite games, and talking about Internet culture and the impact it's had on our lives.

We do eventually get onto talking about The Fall of Ideals and what it was like recording that record with Adam D, and the hilarity that comes from him producing your album.  The impact of songs like This Calling, the lineup changes before recording, and the impact of songs like Six being on Guitar Hero.

We also talk a bit about the old hardcore scenes, the geographical differences between each and first impressions of seeing the West Coast bands for the first time and more.

Joe Cotella, vocalist of DED, returns for this episode of the BREWtally Speaking Podcast!!

Joe Cotella joins me as I talk a bit about my experience seeing the Kanye West Donda event in Chicago a few weeks back and my thoughts on the effects the events could have on how the music industry releases music, which leads us to discussing our mutual love of hip hop and how during the pandemic we have both gone backwards and started exploring music we hadn't previously.

That lead us to talking about our appreciation of bands like Turnstile and Every Time I Die for evolving and not being afraid to take chances. We also touch on some of Ded's new music and how Joe is trying expand what the band is and does, while still still keeping their core sound and more.
