We delve into the mindset on the collective of this Grand Rapids MI local band as they are about to drop their most focused and honest record. How a divorce shaped the lyrical theme of some of the tracks, what recent lineup changes mean for this 4 piece and much more.

Skye Sweetnam is my guest on this episode of the podcast.

Skye is the vocalist for Sumo Cyco, who were at a SOLD OUT stop on their Kings & Queens tour with Nonpoint and Butcher Babies here in MI at The Machine Shop in Flint.

Skye and I talk a bit about touring with bands such as Fozzy, Nonpoint and Butcher Babies. What they've learned from these hard touring bands and how they've incorporated it into their own shows. A funny story involving Chris Jericho and their drummer being out and about while overseas with no Id's on them. Being a woman in the hard rock scene and how fans treat Skye after shows, to her ever changing outfits and why the band takes pride in still being a DIY indie band.

This weeks guest is Keller Harbin, vocalist of Holy+Gold.

Some of you may know Keller from his time in The Chariot, or playing bass for Every Time I Die. However you may or may not know Keller, this chat is a super honest convo about how Keller got into music, his time in the Chariot, to his departure from the band and playing bass with ETID.

We talk about his time out of being a full time musician, and starting a family and losing his faith and almost getting divorced and how all of this shaped the lyrics for what would become the new Holy Gold 7" "Everything Needs Something, I Need Your Light" out July 1st via Mind Over Matter Records, and much much more. This is a super honest convo about Keller's life in and out of the industry.

Brandan Schieppati of Bleeding Through is this weeks guest.

Brandan joins me to discuss the bands newest album, Love Will Kill All. What got the band back together, the current state of the metal scene. Why a lot of the older bands are coming back. Making changes as a band and being comfortable in who you are and how that has equated to the perhaps the best Bleeding Through album to date.
