  • Episode 13: Season 2 Kickoff - Jo (aka Mom)
Welcome to season 2 of BTTH! I scored a big time celebrity for this episode - my mother. I thought she'd be a good person to interview to start season 2. Even though she doesn't think so, I think she's interesting - and I hope you do, too. I kept things light for the first portion of the interview so she could get comfortable before we discussed any deeper topics. I think in some ways we only scratched the surface of all that is Jo, and I want to get her back on for another episode - maybe to kick off season 3?
You'll also notice some new music in this episode, as I'm trying to move away from getting sued. You can find the track from the outro (and a lot more) on Manni Festo's Bandcamp and Soundcloud (linked on the website).
    Enjoy, subscribe, rate, and review.
    Stay human...

  • Episode 12: Shana - Radicalism, Brave Spaces, Embracing the Muddy
This episode's human is my friend and colleague Shana. I met Shana when I moved to the school where I now teach. She is a well-respected social justice educator and teacher of teachers. We discussed her progressive upbringing in an otherwise stale suburban climate, her radicalization and activism in college, creating "brave spaces," how being a parent has impacted her, and the messiness and complexity of building the world we want to see together. • Episode 11: Jacob - Politics, Pineapple, Banjo
This episode's human is my friend Jacob. We met through his partner a few years ago, shortly after he moved to New Jersey. We discuss growing up in Ohio, politics (briefly; too depressing), controversial pizza opinions, and folk music. Then Jacob plays some banjo. Stay tuned after the interview for a bonus track. • Episode 10.2: Iovino, pt. 2 - Cakeboy Buddhism (and a little Dr. John)
This episode is part 2 of my interview wth Iovino. We discuss his days as somewhat of a music celebrity known as Cakeboy, his marriage and divorce, and his journey with Buddhism... and, um, ABBA. I also say goodbye to the legendary Dr. John. Enjoy, subscribe, rate, review. And if you or someone you know can write new outro music for the show, contact me.
