Hawthorne, California’s Redd Kross have been defying stylistic scene conventions since their pre-teen days opening for the likes of Black Flag, creating a body of work over the span of four decades! Liberally dipping into the cultural zeitgeist to borrow from The Beatles, Kiss, glam, punk, bubbelgum and a myriad of high-and-lowbrow signposts, the band as of recent seen a flurry of activity including a documentary Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story, a new, self-titled double opus on In The Red Records, and now a forthcoming book chronicling their wild ride called Now You’re One Of Us: The Incredible Story of Redd Kross out this fall. Seemed like an appropriate time to get founder siblings Jeff and Steve McDonald (the latter spending recent years as well in Off! and The Melvins) to talk all things past present and future. And pick tunes. Do not miss! Playlist at brianturnershow.com
