What did Simon Sebag Montefiore miss was going on in the UK for British Jews in the late '90s to early 00's? My thoughts after his chat with Haviv Retig Gur on his Ask Haviv Anything podcast.

The part I'm really talking about is here:

You can now deposit and withdraw Lightning in and out of the [Magi](https://altera.magi.eco/) system. This video shows you the new screens coming which will let you do this.

This will go live soon!

In addition, via @v4vapp already, you can send sats direct into Magi using the `@magi.v4v.app` Lightning Address.

It's not all about looking at MarineTraffic and AIS signals. There's a lot to know about finding ships on the big, wide ocean and in narrow shipping straits.

I'm back walking on the beach in Tel Aviv but this time during a ceasfire.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=brianoflondon/ca680216
Last Friday I took my life into my hands by walking along the beach just to the north of Tel Aviv, Israel.

Answering ‪Mike Doran on the Israel Update‬ on who Tommy Robinson really is, from someone who's known him for more than a decade.

My first video in ages is all about Tommy Robinson's recent trip to Israel.

I'd heard a few examples of the new [Google Notebook LM](https://notebooklm.google/) thing turning text into a podcast. I thought I would give it a try and pasted in my most recent Hive post.

[Witness Update and V4Vapp News after Hivefest](https://peakd.com/hivefest/@brianoflondon/witness-update-and-v4vapp-news-after-hivefest)

I'm actually a bit shocked at the output. Listen for yourselves, all the extra explanations around Hive and what being a witness entails, seems to have been generated on the fly by the AI itself.

## Value for Value

For the last few months while building @v4vapp I was generously supported by the DHF. Going forward I have a much more modest support which covers direct server costs and a little of my time.

If you appreciate the work I do on and around Hive, you can express this directly: upvoting posts on Hive is great. Also consider a direct donation (there's a Tip button on Hive or a Lightning Address) on all my posts.

It's been a long time since I updated with a video on the #CryptoClassAction Law Suit which @apshamilton @jpbliberty has been fighting in Australia for years now.

We're heading into a hearing for "leave to appeal" (i.e. permission to appeal) and (finally) about our [no adverse costs order](https://peakd.com/cryptoclassaction/@brianoflondon/what-are-the-actual-provision-of-law-in-australia-which-we-use-in-our-case-against-facebook-google-and-twitter) which we've been trying to have heard since the very beginning. This is the order which Australian law allows a court to decide that a case on competition law is important to many people and should be heard without the side bringing the case being liable for the other side's costs if they lose. Andrew's case seems to be a perfect fit for this law.

In advance of that, Andrew [received a settlement offer from both Facebook/Meta and Google](https://peakd.com/cryptoclassaction/@jpbliberty/settlement-offers-from-meta-and-google). In turn, today, Andrew has proposed that he will issue a [counter offer](https://peakd.com/cryptoclassaction/@jpbliberty/settlement-offer-not-accepted-and-proposed-counter-offer).

In this video I give a background explanation of what's going on here and I hope this helps demystify some of the language here.

The long and the short of it is Google and Facebook are trying to crush Andrew with legal bills and hoping that offering to let him off paying for their massive legal teams will buy him off whilst offering nothing for our class members.

Andrew is not accepting that and if they want him to stop the case they'll have to cease banning crypto advertising and at least partially make good on the damages they caused to those who signed up for our class.

As they say: the case continues....

I've been really busy updating [v4v.app](https://v4v.app/) and the latest changes will go live very soon.

Major changes include new icons, hopefully it's simpler to understand.

A new Convert Screen to switch between Hive/HBD and KeepSats (sats stored on v4v.app).
