President Trump’s social media site has removed an AI-generated image depicting the president as Jesus Christ. In the image, the president is shown in a long white robe with a burst of light emitting from one of his hands. The other hand is placed on the forehead of an ailing man. After the social media post was taken down, the president told reporters it was supposed to be him as a doctor because he makes people “a lot better.” He accused the press of causing the controversy, but conservative Christians and other Republican allies of the president had denounced the image as offensive and blasphemous.

President Trump’s 10-billion dollar defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal has been dismissed by a federal judge. The president filed a lawsuit last summer against the newspaper and owner Rupert Murdoch over a story connecting him to Jeffrey Epstein. The article described a sexually suggestive letter that the newspaper said bore Donald Trump’s signature. In turning away the lawsuit, U.S. District Judge Darrin Gayles in Florida wrote that the president had failed to make the argument that the article was published with the intent to be malicious, but gave him a chance to file an amended complaint.
What if the thing you say you need is actually the very thing controlling you? In this episode, we unpack how innocent desires can quietly turn into demands, and how those demands can pull us away from trust in God. Through a powerful look at Scripture and a compelling parallel to Gollum’s obsession in The Lord of the Rings, this conversation challenges you to loosen your grip, realign your heart, and rediscover the freedom that comes from trusting God to provide what you truly need.

Biblical stories like Jonah and the whale would be required reading for Texas public schools students under proposals that are putting the state at the center of another debate over the role of religion in classrooms.
OUTCUE: That’s Bernie Bennett reporting.
VERBATIM: Pastors, teachers, parents and students spent hours last Tuesday before the state education board arguing about the reading list for the state’s 5.4 million kindergartners to 12th-graders.
The board also is considering social studies standards that have been criticized as too state-centric. The list stems from a state law passed in 2023 that calls for the creation of a state-approved list of high-quality reading materials.
