President Trump says the United States is talking with Iran to end the war, even as Iran denies any negotiations. The president says the U.S. is “in negotiations right now” with a new crop of Iranian officials after killing the country’s leadership. Meanwhile, on Pakistan’s offer to mediate U-S-Iran war talks, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt described it as a “fluid situation” and that “sensitive diplomatic discussions” are taking place.
Iran’s parliamentary Speaker has emerged as a possible U.S. contact for peace talks… even as the Iranian leadership remains under fire during the war.
VERBATIM: Reports suggest Washington may see Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf as a negotiating partner.
Iran’s theocracy has been in turmoil since a Feb. 28 Israeli strike killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. His son Mojtaba has reportedly taken over. But he hasn’t been seen after reports of having been wounded.
Qalibaf is a former Revolutionary Guard commander and Tehran mayor. Critics link him to violent crackdowns and corruption claims. He denied on Tuesday that there are any talks with the U.S. underway.
The semiofficial Tasnim news agency called the reports about Qalibaf a Western plot to divide Iran.
Bernie Bennett reporting.
Senators are discussing a proposal to end the Homeland Security budget stalemate that has lasted for several weeks. The plan being discussed would authorize funding for much of the Homeland Security department, including TSA airport workers who are going without pay. But Congress would withhold funding from ICE and its removal operations, which are of the core to the dispute. Senate leaders from both parties say the two sides are “working in a serious way” and “hopefully headed in the right direction.”

Massachusetts is becoming a national hub for abortion
VERBATIM: State official report that nearly 50,000 abortions took place in or through the state in 2024 — more than double the roughly 24,000 that were carried out in 2023. And about half of those 50,000 abortions took place in pro-life states thanks to abortion pills that clinics in Massachusetts are mailing out. Attorneys general in several states have begun filing lawsuits against providers in other states who send abortion drugs in contravention of local laws. MH REPORTING
A decorated past, a tragic story, a viral interview, and suddenly millions of people are treating a politician’s new talking points as truth. That’s a recipe for getting played, and we’ve seen it happen before. Heidi St. John joins us to unpack the Joe Kent controversy, what she witnessed firsthand on the campaign trail, and why the real issue is bigger than one candidate.
We talk about how media narratives get built, how endorsements can suck the oxygen out of a race, and why conservatives can’t afford lazy discernment. Heidi explains why she flagged warning signs early, what “vetting” should actually look like, and why a résumé, charisma, or military service can never replace a clear record and consistent values. We also wrestle with a hard but necessary idea: multiple things can be true at once, including gratitude for service and serious concerns about a person’s leadership.
Then we widen the lens to the long-term fight. Heidi shares what she’s learning through building a thriving homeschool resource center and why education is shaping the next generation of voters. We address burnout, the lure of conspiracy culture, and the danger of outsourcing your worldview to influencers instead of grounding yourself in Scripture and solid sources. If you care about faith and culture, civic responsibility, and how to recruit better leaders locally, you’ll walk away with practical steps and a renewed sense of duty.
