Rule #5: Forgiveness: What is it? What isn't it? When do I need to forgive and how do I do that?

If you sneeze and I say, "Bless you!" - it isn't going to change your life. Much more powerful than the blessing of a man or woman is the blessing of God. But how do we get God's blessing? God's promise to prosper us and give us His happiness?

Rule #4: When you confront, confront with love and gentleness.  Every conflict provides you with an opportunity to please God.  Every conflict provides you with an opportunity to love others.

Rule #3: Humbly asking for forgiveness is the most powerful relational remedy in conflict. Remember: There is a big difference between an apology and asking for forgiveness.

Rule #2: You must focus on your part of the conflict regardless of what the other person does. Remember: your biggest enemy in conflict is YOU!

Your goal in conflict cannot be to win the conflict or avoid the conflict. Your goal must be to please God. Remember: Sinful people tend to respond sinfully when sinned against.
