Mthulisi Mlingwa reminded us that our flesh is easily influenced and that, we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to teach us and show us the ways of Christ

Selby Mpofu shares on the work God desires to continually do in our hearts, reminding us that the Lord who created our hearts is also able to change and restore them. Our hearts determine our spiritual state, and God is able to examine even the hidden motives and intentions within us.

Selby shares on the dangers of a hard heart, reminding us that while the heart is naturally deceitful, we have a responsibility to guard it diligently. Teaching from Luke 21:34–35 and Hebrews 3:13–15, he warned that just as a physical heart attack stops the flow of life, a hardened heart hinders the life of Christ from being expressed through us.

Selby Mpofu opened by reminding us that we have been raised to please the Lord and that we are called to reflect Him wherever we go. He encouraged us to remain in sound doctrine, holding firmly to the revelation of Jesus Christ, knowing that a life rooted in the gospel carries the fragrance of Christ.

Teaching from Mark 14:4–9 and 2 Corinthians 2:14–16, we were challenged by the example of the woman who poured out her perfume, withholding nothing from the Lord. Just as the fragrance filled the room, so too are we called to carry the fragrance of Christ wherever we go.

Looking at Ezekiel 36:27, Romans 7:4–6, Romans 8:3–4, and 1 Corinthians 15:10, we were encouraged to hold fast to the freedom we have in Christ. It is by grace—not the law—that we are able to endure trials, serve the Lord faithfully, and find rest in Him.

Victory is not the absence of hardship, but having a heart that remains steadfast through it all - trusting in the grace of God to take us through.

Teaching from Matthew 28:18–20, Leon reminded us that we are called to be disciples of Jesus, not merely rely on humanism to better ourselves. Discipleship is about embracing what is on the Lord’s heart for us and following His example.

From Matthew 16:24–25, we were challenged to look to Christ as the blueprint for discipleship. Just as He laid down His life for us, we too are called to lay down our lives for one another. The goal of discipleship is to become more like Christ.

Reading from Philippians 3:8–9 and 2 Corinthians 5:14–15, Selby challenged us with a question: what compels us? Paul declared that it was the love of Christ that compelled him, shaping the way he lived and served.

From Luke 14:25–27 and Acts 20:24, we were reminded that following Jesus requires us to count the cost. Often, the greatest obstacle is not the world around us, but our love for ourselves. The call was to lay down our own lives for His sake, trusting that true life is found in Him alone.

Ronald brought a strong encouragement to examine how we serve the Lord, warning us not to reduce our walk with God to routine or religion. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:14–15, he reminded us that we are called to live for Christ, compelled by His love and no longer for ourselves.

From Matthew 16:24 and Galatians 2:20, we were challenged to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow the way of Jesus—because we cannot serve God on our own terms. The call was simple yet searching: to walk in the ways of Christ and remain faithful to Him.

There was great joy as we welcomed Selby back from Zimbabwe, where he had been preparing the way for the upcoming CTMI Build Conference in September.

Selby shared on the importance of keeping a pure heart. He reminded us that while many focus on outward things, God looks at the heart—and the state of our hearts determines the course of our lives. Only the gospel has the power to truly transform what lies within.

This message was both convicting and encouraging, calling us to allow the Lord to search us, cleanse us, and keep our hearts tender before Him.

Drawing from Revelation 22:12–21, Selby reminded us that time is short and that Jesus is coming back soon. He encouraged us to live with an eternal perspective, finding our true joy not in earthly things but in knowing that our names are written in the Book of Life. Reflecting on the early church in Acts 20:24 and Acts 5:41, we were challenged by their boldness and joy, as nothing could stop them from speaking about Jesus, even in the face of opposition.

He went on to emphasize that true freedom requires death. This led to a personal challenge: to examine where we stand with what the Lord has entrusted to us.
