As we return to our study in Exodus, we'll again look at the trials and tribulations of Pharaoh. I hate to keep knocking a guy when he's down, but Pharaoh is a special case. What a knuckle head this guy was! In the wake of untold death and destruction - because of his hard hearted attitude - he still refuses to acknowledge God's power and Holiness. Talk about a guy stuck in denial-mode! Unfortunately there are many people today who fit that same description.

In God's word, we see example after example of hardheaded people, and without exception, this attitude leads to problems - and sometimes disaster. Pharaoh was a guy with a hard head and hard heart and we see the consequences of his bad attitude in Exodus chapters ten and eleven.

We've seen Moses confronting Pharaoh, we've seen Pharaoh hardening his heart toward God, and today, we'll see what happens when God sends plagues upon the earth. I think you'll agree after hearing today's message that God is true to His word, and He doesn't like being disrespected! Join us in Exodus eight, verse twenty nine.

When someone turns their heart toward God, it's cause for rejoicing. But what happens when someone hardens their heart toward God? That's exactly what happened to Pharaoh and we'll discuss it on today's edition of Bridging the Gap.

As we study chapter seven of Exodus we observe an individual who refused to submit to God, in spite of the great consequences. In Christian circles, we refer to this as a hard heart, and certainly Pharaoh had one.

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd brings us a study in Exodus chapters six and seven, as we look at another battle going on - the battle for deliverance by Moses and the people of Israel. It's here that we see the power of God displayed in the form of Plagues. And oh boy, are these plagues bad!

Moses had his hands full as he sought to deliver his people out of Egypt, and at the same time, we have our hands full as we seek deliverance from our sin. Both battles need God's hand to be successful. We really can't do it alone. That's a lesson everyone eventually learns, although some take a lot longer to figure it out than others!

As Christians - we are called to face these battles by relying on the Lord and His Strength. One of the greatest examples of this was Moses facing Pharaoh. Today on Bridging the Gap - Pastor Lloyd Pulley will offer us some pointers which will really be beneficial for times of spiritual warfare. The basis of our study is found in Exodus chapters five and six.

As we continue our new series in Exodus, titled "Deliverance", we will again look at the life and times of one of the great men in the Bible - Moses. Talk about some heavy responsibilities! An entire nation's future put into the hands of one man! But Moses was a humble and Godly man who knew that it was God - working through him - who was really doing the delivering.

Today we'll again open our Bibles to the book of Exodus, as we enjoy a brand new series from Lloyd called "Deliverance". As we look at chapter four, we'll see just what God can do when He flexes His mighty muscle. It can be a good thing or a bad thing - depending of course on whether you're on God's side or not!
