Today's broadcast is based from a discovery that came from a class session that I conducted at Grace Lutheran Church yesterday afternoon.  The attendees all have backgrounds as teachers/trainers and use technology as part of their daily professional careers and personal lives.  Yet, I was able to show them a way to create a tool that could be used to manage contract labor/employee timesheets (hours worked, hourly rate, etc...) for an organization or business.

Join me as I discuss how I plan to initiate the "Technology Literacy Movement" locally within areas of Concord & Charlotte (NC).  The plan will consist of workshops, webinars and training sessions offered through local community-based organizations.  Social media will be a main ingredeient to reaching an even larger audience while adding the ability for interaction with those interested in joining this movement.

This is the first broadcast of the 2014 by Troy A. Burgher, owner of TAB Training & Consulting, as he outlines the services offered by his business and the direct connection to the movement that he will embark on in 2014; a "Back to the Basics - Technology Literacy MOVEMENT."  Mr. Burgher understands that such a movement will take more that himself (and his business) to get started...therefore he will be building partnerships with other individuals, business owners and organizations that also believe that technology literacy is key to personal, academic and business success.

Today’s broadcast is a 10-month recap of services and events sponsored, facilitated or implemented by TAB Training & Consulting, LLC toward promoting the mission of bridging the technology literacy gap in the city of Concord (NC).  The January 20th TABRadio broadcast of this year was the kickoff broadcast and I wanted to do a recap on what has happened since that day.

While society is truly fortunate to possess new technologies that did not exist 10-20 years ago; there still seems to be a large disparity between those that have access and can maximize the benefits of such technological advancement to achieve academic, personal, and professional success versus those that do not have the same access to technology.  However, I want to point out a shift in the Paradigm regarding how we define the word “access” when it comes to technology literacy (more to come about this shift during the broadcast).

During this broadcast I will share my personal experiences from the past 10 months that strongly point to the importance of technology literacy at home, in the workplace and in the community.  Today’s broadcast will be one of many efforts taken on by TAB Training & Consulting, LLC as a vehicle for bridging the technology literacy gap that exists in technologically challenged communities (more on that new “category” in the broadcast).

It all began a week before MY BIG day...the wedding and marriage to the love of my life for LIFE!   On this last day of "official business” just before the wedding and honeymoon...Disaster would Strike!!!  I was in the middle of a virtual meeting with a new business associate when my laptop went black and stayed there.  Needless to say I had plenty of other things on my mind...then this happens - my hard drive crashed!  Listen to Sunday's broadcast to learn more about my dilemma and what I should have done as part of my business organization plan (that I now have) that would have made the situation a lot less stressful!

As I enter into a "New Chapter" in my personal life within two weeks time; I would like to share with you how "it" all got started - the birth of TAB Training & Consulting, LLC.  The dream of entrepreneurship is about 27 years old...however the business, as it is today, started to take shape in the summer of 1992.
