I recorded this live during one of my podcast classes. I asked participants a simple question: “What type of podcast would you have?” Each person came up and shared their idea, resulting in a variety of creative and inspiring podcast concepts.
We recorded and edited the session right in class, then I used DaVinci Resolve to reduce the echo and background noise and isolate the voices.
I hope hearing real people talk through their podcast ideas inspires you to take action on your own. Everyone has something to contribute, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. Start today.

This is a simple demonstration. I recorded it live in the classroom using a Blue Yeti microphone, so you can hear some of the room sound. I also increased the volume so you can hear the people speaking. There is a slight unevenness in the audio, which I intentionally left in to demonstrate that getting clear, usable audio is more important than trying to make it perfect.

This demo was recorded for a podcasting class I’m teaching using the free version of Riverside.fm. When Spotify stopped allowing creators to record and edit their own shows on its platform, Riverside was one of the services it recommended.
The paid version of Riverside is quite good, but the free version can be frustrating. You have to keep looking for the “Skip” button and be careful not to accidentally start the free trial. If you do, you’ll enter a short trial period before billing begins.
I recorded this sample using only my phone in my studio. The class is tomorrow, and stay tuned because we’ll be developing more podcasting training in the future.

Most people say they want change, growth, success, or a better life. But wanting something and being committed to creating it are not the same thing.
In this episode, I explore the difference between being interested in an outcome and being truly committed to it. Commitment means moving beyond wishing, waiting, or reacting to circumstances. It means choosing what you are here to build, then aligning your time, attention, habits, and decisions with that choice.
The question is not just, “What do you want?” The deeper question is, “Are you fully committed to creating it yet?”
If you are feeling stuck, scattered, or uncertain about your next step, this reflection may help you return to what matters and take ownership of what you are building.
In this episode, Martin Brossman explains how marketing and social media are changing as platforms increasingly reward content based on customer interests, questions, and intent, not just followers or brand loyalty. Learn why small businesses must better understand exactly who their ideal customer is and how micro-education, useful answers, and relevant content can help you get found, build trust, and stay visible in a world driven by interest-based discovery.

In this episode, Martin Brossman shares a personal story about undergoing cataract surgery and how shifting his perspective helped reduce anxiety and give him a sense of control. As someone naturally squeamish and uncomfortable with medical procedures, Martin explains how choosing to see the experience as an opportunity to assist the surgeon and remain mentally curious reframed the situation. He connects this mindset to other life challenges—like riding a roller coaster—where adopting a useful perspective, even if not entirely "true," can reduce stress and build resilience. The episode emphasizes the power of mindset when facing unavoidable, uncomfortable tasks and encourages listeners to choose perspectives that serve them well.

Working in retail or the restaurant industry? Then you know—anyone can walk through that door. When I managed a RadioShack, our inside joke was: "If they can walk in, they will."
Dealing with the public teaches you resilience, fast thinking, and emotional intelligence—skills no book can fully prepare you for. In this episode, I share how applying principles from Aikido helped me navigate high-conflict situations with grace, leading to recognition from IBM and Governor Hunt.
