Lexie opens with what sparked this season’s idea: a documentary she watched on a flight that followed researcher Helen Fisher and other neuroscientists studying love through fMRI scans showing how our brains respond to images of people we love, have lost, or have left behind.

Andie makes the case for why love belongs in BLB. It’s not a detour from the show’s core, because love is spiritual and physical, emotional and mental, and tangled up with the same big questions they have explored all along.

The two end the episode by teasing what’s in store for this season: conversations that blend science with lived experience and leave room for the mystical, too.
