Today on Deep Dive into sports, I sat down with Roshard Cargill. Cargill is the facility coordinator for Jacksonville State's athletic department. He, his staff, as well as other athletics administrators were on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. The safety measures put into place at Jacksonville State's facilities were orchestrated and continued by Cargill. He gives great insight into what it was like to deal with the pandemic in the position he holds at a Division I university. Jacksonville State was one of over 360 Division I universities who were forced to adapt and overcome during the height of the pandemic in order to continue playing collegiate athletics.
In this interview, I sit down with Jaleel Dumas to discuss the changes he has seen in sports in the post-pandemic era we live in now. Obviously, COVID-19 is still around and variants of the virus are constantly popping up to infect individuals. The good news is with the wide availability of vaccines, the world has returned to somewhat of a "normal." Sports, particularly college athletics, were forced to change the way they operated and some of the changes have stuck in this post-pandemic world. Jaleel is a fan of college sports and as a student he attends events when he can.
Listen in for some great, postitive news to help get you through your day.
