Springing into action Holly jumps in working with World Central Kitchen https://wck.org and has the opportunity to fly in the helicopters delivering food while I work with the University to take care of the dislocated students and get them to the States.

Dorian smashed the Northern Bahamas on September 1, 2019. It was the strongest Hurricane on record in the Bahamas to date. A category 5 storm with winds recorded at 185 MPH, a storm surge [sea level rise] of over 9 meters [29 feet] and it came to a crawl for two days over Grand Bahama & Abaco.

It’s all fun & games until Hurricane Dorian shows up.

Sun drenched beaches, swaying palms, turquoise waters, warm Bahamian hospitality, unexpected leadership change at the University, category 5 hurricane, and the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. My second Fulbright takes us to The Bahamas but it wasn't the "usual" Fulbright nor a vacation by any stretch of the imagination!

Thank you Fulbright Commission, Charles University and University of Economics, Prague!  To all my students and my friends in Praha, I miss you all dearly <3

"None shall step, none shall sleep, even you oh Princess, in your cold room, watch the stars that tremble with love

and with hope. But my secret is hidden within me. My name no one shall know...no...no...

on your mouth will tell it, when the light shines, and my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!..."
