It is absolutely fundamental that we understand who Jesus is. One of the three persons of the perfect unity of the Godhead, Father, Son and Spirit. He preexisted creation, He was glorified with the Father before the beginning, all things were created by Him, to Him and For Him and His good pleasure. At no time in scripture does Jesus cease to be God, nor did He ever "empty Himself" of His deity. The whole of scripture Genesis through Revelation is centered on the long awaited Christ and His finished work to redeem fallen creation. He is there Alpha and Omega, and we await eternity future when He will make all things new.
