You needed to be a good little automaton for that society or you would likely be branded a witch….by some teenage girls who dreamed you were a witch?! What!? Yup the powers that be in Salem, MA in 1692 believed teenage girls who claimed people were witches when they dreamed about them. People died because of “spectral evidence”?? We finished up our unintentional two part episode asking What Is Witchcraft. Foennix referenced Hocus Pocus plenty of times. Definitely some spoilers if you haven’t seen either movie. “An ye harm none, do what ye will” - The Wiccan Rede. Wicca is a flavor of witchcraft where harming no one is largely practiced. The Threefold Law posits whatever energies one sends out will return threefold. Harming someone will result in harm to you threefold. Sending good intentions will result in good intentions times three returning to you. There are also many different varieties of Wicca as well. In modern times the Thunderbird is more of a cryptid creature, but for thousands of years it existed in Native American stories as a protector and judge of mortal humans. We could have surely gone deeper with that topic, but we just wanted to skim the surface for the time being. The United States Of America is not the only country that has an independence day, as far as we understand it is the first country to have one. We discovered 195 countries have independence days!
