Today, various recipients of the King’s Birthday honours have been recognised from across the country, with acknowledgment spanning every industry.
Dr Carol Douglas, has received the Public Service Medal for her devotion to improving end-of-life care for patients, establishing the Queensland Palliative Medicine Training Program.
Dr Douglas highlighted the importance of recognition, telling Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, "In medicine, it's been at times a real struggle to get the acknowledgement that good end-of-life care is as important as all of the other aspects of medicine."
