Queen Elizabeth's Tilbury Camp Speech is one of the most famous speeches of all time but was the timing suspect? 

Did you know that it wasn't spoken at Tilbury Fort but at Tilbury Camp? (I make an attempt to find the site - see what happens.)

Archbishop Cranmer was burned at the stake on 21st March 1556 ostensibly guilty of heresy but, I would argue, Queen Mary also had a personal reason to punish Cranmer.

In 978 a king was murdered at the gates of Corfe Castle, possibly on the order of his stepmother. King Edward was only 15 or 16 when he was killed. Within two decades he was being considered a saint despite never being canonised.
