We sit and have an awesome one on two chat with Emily Siero and her journey to Stand up, Film and now The Podcast world. We learn about her passion to be a comedian, which stems from acting and growing up in a big traditional Italian Family. Emily explains how she got into podcasting. How hearing from a friend about a podcast pitch idea for a contest the day before the competition, played a huge role in her having a podcast today.
"Work it, Own it" podcast is all about self healing, self care, self improvement. As Ray puts it, "a memoir of her life and experiences it comes across to the avid listener". A quality that we later learn comes from listening to her grandparents tell the same damn stories over and over again. Haha! Emily simply puts it, it helped with her monologue and storytelling ability. That she now skillfully uses in her podcast to connect with her audience very organic way.
Emily explains how Yoga helped with her physical insecurities in high school. That one of the reasons she decided to become a Yoga instructor, to help others suffering as well; not to mention the flexible hours it lent to an aspiring actress. Emily gets deep telling us about her past abusive relationship and how she got out! She's Owned it, and triumph over it, so much so, that she's taken it on the road with her as part of her stand up material. We truly hope you enjoy this episode she just pure energy the entire time.
