Broadcasts from the Basement episodes

  • Episode 3: Coen Brothers Bonanza
This one we break up the formula a bit. In an attempt to prepare ourselves for the newest movie from Joel and Ethan Coen, we discuss some of our favorite Coen Brothers films, and talk about some of the lesser known work. *SPOILER ALERT* We do talk about main plot points of  Fargo (FX), but only season one. Bear with us, we get a little pretentious in this one, but it’s worth it, because we picked out two of their lesser known films that are worth watching. At the very least you’ll have the ability to one-up your film snob friends when they start talking about the Coen brothers. Jack’s got takes for days, and Casey claims The Ladykillers never got a fair shake. As always, thanks for listening, and subscribe for new episodes every week!

  • Episode 2: The Gang Goes Off The Rails
We got stuck in the past this episode as we discuss Halo, Call of Duty, Five Nights At Freddy’s, Goldeneye, The Popcap arcade games of yesteryear, and more random games that we’ve been playing and thinking about recently. Jack defends one of the worst games of all time, and Casey reminisces about the good old days of Xbox Live voice chat. We will be periodically doing freeform episodes like this one, as sometimes the best conversations are the ones that happen spontaneously. Let us know what you think, and thanks for listening!

  • Episode 1: Star Wars - Any Hope?
In our very first episode, Jack and Casey discuss the library of games from a long, long, time ago in a galaxy far, far, away, and how the games themselves kept the Star Wars universe alive during the dark era of the 2000’s. Jack dusts off the gamecube, the N64, and the original DS to talk about some games that don’t seem to get a lot of love these days, while Casey looks at some of the bigger titles, and the first thing that pops up into most people’s minds when they think of Star Wars games. *Cough* Knights of the Old Republic Cough*. Just like the first episode of The Simpsons, this episode is gonna sound really weird looking back on it.
